poor of all those people that make money speed-running Nintendo games like Zelda and Mario. I can already see copyright claims everywhere and old users getting banned left and right. Then the obligatory Google+ to make an account and the video quality turning into a mess like Youtube's. Easily the worst news of the year!

I would feel uneasy about this if I were a Twitch streamer. Also, Google's buying, not necessarily YouTube.

YouTube is still an LLC. It's just owned by Google. If YouTube for some reason parted from Google, it would still own twitch, it wouldn't be Google's. But that's neither here nor there right now

The Google+ being forced into everything gets on my tits. Apart from that I don't have too many problems with them. The amount of stuff they own and the amount of nasty shit they could POTENTIALLY do is a bit worrying but in terms of what they ACTUALLY do I think they're still alright, if not as saintly as a few years ago.

Not that I use Twitch, (was going to with games like Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros For Wii U) but I don't like this. Why does Google want everything thats popular? Whats next Pizza Hut? Where you can only order pizza by singing in with Google +?

I think Google has Down Sized Google Plus to a degree where that won't be the issue with Twitch. The Copyright claims will be.

i'm 'OK' with google, i wouldn't endorse them as some kind of magical fairy with infinite kindness - of course not, but i use their services a lot and i think the data i consequently provide them with is a fair deal.

I didn't think that Twitch was in any sort of financial trouble. Apparently the owners were ready to move on or just wanted some cash.

Google has also finally pulled out from requiring a Google+ account for everything. They deemed it a failure a few months back and have been basically abandoning the push for G+. So don't worry about that.

I wouldn't be any more worried about that even if Twitched stayed separate. If the copyright brigade wanted to go after Twitch they already would have. Would have probably been more effective too.

It wasn't the big gaming names getting "blasted". It was the smaller guys who were hit the hardest. It really did all blow over though. People freaked out yet you can still easily crate a channel and make videos without worrying.

I know they do. I chose to give my info to Google though. No one forces me to use their search and email. I choose to. The price I pay is they get data about me. I don't really care that they do.

Yeah, sorry. I wasn't implying like massive names. I felt bad about the whole situation because they weren't really given a warning ahead of time. You can edit audio on videos after you upload them. I think a heads up would have been nice.

Does this mean you will be ban if streaming game emulation? I see suspension sometimes when gamer stream early release on ps4.

Consumers will hate any large company based on a number of irrational reasons.... or reasons they blow way out of proportion. Google has incredibly good products for the most part. but they get the same stick when trying to push in new services that just don't please people... which you can't tell until you've tried... E.G Google +.

Its like the idiots here that complain about Microsoft Store... so .... every other big company even peoples beloved apple or google have their own apps stores on their operation systems, as soon as Microsoft does it "They are trying to monopolize gaming, NOTCH IS RIGHT (No ... he really isnt.)."

And the same people when EA set up Origin .... despite it being no harsher, and in some ways due to how its region selection works is cheaper than steam for new games ... Ironically... but nope.... EA are the devil for doing what Valve already forced us to do years before.
