Does this game have it's own story, or is it a continuation of the stories in the earlier games? I plan on getting them all, but Origins looks like the best one. So I was thinking of getting it first.

I played a bit of it. It's not story oriented. Also you can play it without playing any of the previous entries.bbkkristianThank you.

EDIT: Which is better, Ys: Origin or Ys: The Oath in Felghana?

[QUOTE="RR360DD"]Another terrible thread from amazontreeboa22Toothpicksyou're a bit of an asshole, aren't you?Had you not quoted him, I wouldn't have even seen his worthless post. He is on my blocked list. Only time I see his ignorance (other than through quotes like this) is if I am on my phone. If I ever figure out how to block on my phone, it will be a good day.
Chronologically it's the first game. Hence the name. It's a great game and a great series though (still need to finish this one however).
The whole game is set some 700 years before the series actually begins with Adol.

Well Ys Origin offers three playable characters and all the story arcs intersect with each other. Oath In Felghana is pretty solid though. I'd go with Origin above Oath simply for how much more content you get out of it (you can literally get an achievement for somehow squeezing 20 hours out of a single playthrough of Oath).
Still, they're both solid titles, I'd get both if you can but it you must choose one I'd go with Origin.
Also, I strongly recommend playing the mage first.

I have both on PSP, both are great games. I can't say which one is better because all of this is quite subjective. Get both, enjoy both. Ys is becoming one of my favorite RPG series ever.
I never thought you'd like Falcom games, they're kick ass.Does this game have it's own story, or is it a continuation of the stories in the earlier games? I plan on getting them all, but Origins looks like the best one. So I was thinking of getting it first.

Ys Origin pre-dates Ys 1 and 2, because it's an origin story. Â It will explain the events that are to take place several thousand years into the future when Adol comes into the picture. Â The game contains 3 seperate characters with their own stories to play out as, although with minute differences and intersections within each. Â It is a fantastic game, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to just about anybody with an itch for a sick action game.
EDIT: Which is better, Ys: Origin or Ys: The Oath in Felghana?Oath in Felghana is better for newcomers to the series.Â
