Gameinformer is better, but I liked EGM, almost bought one yesterday. Hopefully this isnt the begging of the end for gaming mags and sites.

I mean out of 4 game mags I have ever read 2 are out of bisnuss now.

EGM sucks. And if this really was an important matter then I would have a drink but it isnt.

People lose jobs all the time. But they will find new ones.

I have explained this to so many people before. If your company sucks then it needs to die.

People never seem to look at the bigger picture.

A crappy company is going to die and better companies will either take they're place or take their market share.

I was hoping this "EGM gets owned after Lair" title was implying a strong rebuke from a well-respected developer/critic, either on the game specifically or something like their reviews being totally erratic for hyped games.

I don't really like to see anyone lose their jobs, but I can't say I ever found EGM to be useful for reviews, so I haven't bought their product in ages.

I used to LOVE the hell out of EGM and still think it is the best videogame mag out there. But I remember years ago (back in the MK2 days of arcades) when the magazine was like $6 (cad) and was like 400 pages of pictures and game news. Over the years the magazine kept getting smaller and smaller with less and less content other than reviews.

Yeah, back in the day, EGM was HUGE. It was my main source of news on games prior to the Internet.

It is bad news if gaming loses a media outlet like the Ziff Davisgroup, including 1 up and EGM. I prefer Gamespot but the other sites all have something to give and the more outlets we have, the better. I hope that if Ziff can't reorganize its debt, it can at least reorganizes in bankruptcy and sells off or continues operation of its gaming sites and publications. I

why would MS be obligated to? And Bungie was payed to give them all that info, bungie was also payed by other magazines to release other information.
