You're just figuring out CD-I? or are you saying that Link doesn't need a voice cause I think we all don't want that.

Though something like Fable 2 would be cool like the Main Character is Silent but everyone else talks.

Still, let's not forget that the Zelda CDi games are extremely poor examples of story-telling and voice acting in general (they're also hilarious). People sometimes use them as examples of why Zelda should not have voice acting; I think that's a little like showing a terribly voice-acted movie and using it as an example of why movies should go back to being silent.

I agree, Link shouldn't talk. But there's no excuse for his dialogue being "I just wonder what Ganon's up to!" or "Great, I'll grab my stuff!". That would sound stupid even if it appeared only in a text box.

That perfectly sums up the 90's.
