I hear tons of people complaining about how extremely rehashed COD games are, which I agree with

Nintendo is doing similar things and rehashes their series over and over again making minimal improvements and rely on the name and their nostalgic fanbase to support it

we all saw how Guitar Hero turned out and how COD will inevitably turn out as well and I can see Zelda turning out the same way. graphics are really dated as well, and I know its all about teh gameplay but Demon's Souls blows away Zelda in the gameplay department

so if u think COD isn't evolving than you should probably watch the trailer of Skyward Sword and see how much worse it is in regards to that

Oh god! Does Zelda release every single year. At least nintendo is adding 1:1 motion control in the games. We still don't know what Nintendo has planned for us for the next Zelda game so don't assume anything from a quick 1 minute trailer.

Some game series are built to last longer. You do more than just press buttons as the game prompts you to in Zelda and Call of Duty. The both have more depth and potential than Guitar Hero ever had and this why they will endure. Guitar Hero died because of the concept, the excessive releases on slightly sped up the process.

What does Demon's Souls have to do with Zelda? They're not alike at all. They're almost complete opposites.

Bullcrap.

You're hardly the person to bring this discussion to light. Comparing Zelda toCall of Dutyis just misinformed. I would have more respect for this topic if it didn't involve trying to bring down a legendary series to the same level as a temporary cash cow.

Zelda isn't an annual release though ...

The good thing about Nintendo and its franchises, for the most part, they spread them out among a few years while adding minor differences that make the same experience feel somewhat fresh.

thats not the point, COD obviously releases way more often BUT there are still little to no improvements/differences on the Zelda games so I guess you would call COD milking and Zelda rehashing

All the 3D Zelda games on consoles have felt different, besides TP which felt similar to OoT. The follow the same structure but have different themes. OoT was the first of its kind, Majora's Mask was really different than OoT, Wind Waker had a new and creative art direction that allowed them to express character interaction, expression and settings better than previous titles and TP felt vastly like a revisitation to what OoT did -- however with a light/dark world theme and a wolf character.

Idk what you're all about. You must really be trying hard.

Just because you personally do not find the gameplay interesting or stale does not mean that it is that way for a fact. How could Zelda improve? There really hasn't been any notable advancements in the genre that Zelda has missed out on.

Twilight Princess came out over 4 years ago.

Since then, there have been 2 handheld games, which are radically different than the console games.

Twilight Princess was essentially a Gamecube game released on the Wii. So Skyward Sword is the first true Zelda game this gen.

...

In all that time, we have had...5 Call of Duty games and countless DLC with very few big changes to the gameplay.

It's not the same...

How is Zelda becoming rehashed like cod?

The last four main Zelda's have come out within a 13 years and they all have been very different. Oot,MM,WW, all have very different themes aside from TP being a bit like Oot. Plus all of the Zelda's have added something fundamentally new unlike CoD which just adds a couple of weapons, unbalanced killreaks and perks.

We don't get Zelda every year. So that makes it more unique than CoD. Every Zelda Game has something special about it unlike CoD as well. So get your facts straight before you go accusing Zelda of being an Activision rehash. :x

I usually don't look into games that are targeted at a younger audience but for Zelda I have and it's pretty much the same with minor differences, the only thing thats there is the nostalgic feeling you get since u played it as a kid. I don't see how anyone can get into Zelda nowadays if you didn't play them when you were small or are currently at a young age

Because the Zelda series is truly a perfect definition of how a video game should be. It has adventure, exploration, puzzles, and action. There are very few games today that can even match zelda's quality and depth.

Also we've barely seen any of the gameplay. The purpose of the demo from E3 was to show us how the controls work and the trailers have been the same -- We still haven't seen how the structure of the game differs from previous Zelda titles. We only know what little details Nintendo has told us (i.e. a dungeon might just consist of puzzles, no bosses, part of the field might be the dungeon itself and so on).

I'm guessing you haven't read a lot about the game.

There are very few games today that can even match zelda's quality and depth.

lol there are very few games that can match how long Zelda has been around and the fans it's created u know why the call people who like Nintendo sheep on here? its because a sheep always follows no matter what and they will make it out that Zelda is THE **** and no game can match it but when you ask one of them what makes it so special... they answer because i'ts Zelda lol
