Zelda Or Halo : Which Franchise Is More Popular?

Total Shipments as of March 31, 2007.

GCN Zelda TP - 1.32 million
Wii Zelda TP - 3.27 million
Total - 4.59 million

Halo 3s rumored preorders are catching that.. lol.

 But right now Halo is definently the more popular series.. I'm not sure if people misunderstood the poll or are just stupid to think otherwise :s.

 Zelda definently is popular, but not as much as it was.

Halo.

There are many, many people out there who never touched a game before Halo. Hell, I know people who don't give a damn about Halo's single player, only the multiplayer. One of my best friends in High School hated video games until Halo came out and as soon as he played it he rushed out to buy an X-Box.

I think Zelda is a better series, but Halo appeals to casuals, hardcore gamers and also those who don't care about video games at all.

However. if you mean among the gaming community exclusively (past and present), Zelda is definitely more popular. 

Rather pointless Question really. Zelda will always be considered the superior and more popular franchise.

Its a Single Player experiance though so its gonna lose out on the No life 20 hours a day Online deathmatch people. Halo Series sells for its online play. If it was Single Player only it would probably lose 75% of its Sales.

Halo and Zelda are apples and Oranges.

Halo 2 6.11 million in US and then 1.67 million in rest the world....Nope Halo not really that big out of the US

Right now half of all Wii owners have got a copy of Zelda:TP Halo 2 was the biggest game on the XBOX and it does not come close to that

Its not fair to compare the two games. 

1.  Halo is an FPS and Zelda is an Action/Adventure Game

2.  Zelda is a single player game.

3.  Most people buy Halo for the multiplayer and Zelda doesn't have any.

Zelda is my favorite gaming series of all time but I would have to say that Halo is more popular... right now.
