At E3 Nintendo President says that Zelda out sold Halo and COD combine
Zelda=70 Million
Halo and COD=50 Million
>.< Out of all the games it seems Nintendo's Zelda has beaten Microsofts best Game and the most played shooter.

Um is that lifetime? That seems low for a franchise that has been around since the 80s. jg4xchampIt's not the biggest seller.
[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"]Um is that lifetime? That seems low for a franchise that has been around since the 80s. SaltyMeatballsIt's not the biggest seller. The hell it isn't. OoT, Wind Waker, and Twilight PRincess if i'm not mistaken went over 5 million didn't they? Plus the handheld ones do pretty good as well. It's not the biggest seller for Nintendo, but I don't exactly have Nintendo standards for sales :P

Theres been seven since 93 thats sure a lot on those poor zelda overrun handhelds
Um Halo put up 34 million in 5 games in a span of a decade. Zelda put up 70 million since the 80s. Also Halo 3 and MW2 weren't the highest selling games this gen so why even argue it?Im just saying there are alot of fanyboys claiming Halo and COD outsells other games but the game the outsold them was from Nintendo.

Um is that lifetime? That seems low for a franchise that has been around since the 80s. jg4xchampYes, it's lifetime. The cumulative sales of the series stand at 70 million. By comparision, NFS is 100 million, Sims is 120 million, Tetris is 120 million, Pokemon is 210 million, Mario is 220 million.

By comparision, NFS is 100 million, Sims is 120 million, Tetris is 120 million, Pokemon is 210 million, Mario is 220 million.That 70 mil for Zelda is over something like 20 games. The Sims is well over 20 games/expansions/compilations/ports. Tetris has had too many versions on too many platforms to count. Every time a new Pokemon games comes out, it comes out in multiple colors, which when added to the series catch phrase of "Gotta catch em all" and the series target demographic = sales out the wazoo. And Mario has had well over 200 games (including all the spin-offs and Japan only games, including many that were bundles with systems). As someone who doesn't care for Halo at all, 30 mil Halo games over 5 games, or is more impressive than 70 million Zeldas over 20 games, or 200 million Marios spread over 200 games.

It's kinda interesting that even with SMB selling over 40 million thanks to being bundled, the franchise as a whole has averaged only about a million sales per game.[QUOTE="charizard1605"] Yes, it's lifetime. smb 3 was not bundled
and mariokart at 25 mill is not bundled
No one outsells Nintendo 1st party games. I think the 22 million Mario Kart wii games sold so far tells that story quite clearly. No one even comes close to nintendo in sales.

Hasnt Zelda been out longer than those titles?
That's lifetime sales right? Cause that's pretty low for a game around for about 2 decades. Halo: launched 2001 and has sold around 30M CoD: launched 2002(?) and has sold around 20-25M93soccerCoD first released in 2003
With 20 or so games in that time period. I really don't know why they're acting like it's an accomplishment to have outsold 2 series that are under 10 years old and COMBINED have about 10 games.um, cool, zelda been around for what? 25 years? LOL

From 2002 - 2009 We have seen 9 yes 9, Ratchet and clank games... Ratchet over run Playstation ;)With 20 or so games in that time period. I really don't know why they're acting like it's an accomplishment to have outsold 2 series that are under 10 years old and COMBINED have about 10 games. Seeing as Zelda has only been on Nintendo. While Halo and COD have seen PC iterations with COD spanning out to PS3 and Wii as well. Not to mention gaming when the first rounds of Zelda where around where for the much more nerdy :P Gaming was not so mainstream back then.[QUOTE="GramDubs"]
