Gamerankings which takes the average score of all reviews has it at an outstanding 94.3%. Sure it has tough competiton with Super Mario Bros. (nes), Super Mario World (snes), Halo (xbox), and a few others. Zelda Tp is an epic game that nobody should miss. Even if you hate the Wii you should pick a copy up for GC to play a truelly extraordinary game. AAA
Great game...yeah. But I think Star Wars Rogue leader holds the title for best launch game in history. Twilight Princess comes 2nd. The thing that hurt it the most was the lack of replay value.

I'm glad to see you enjoyed it. Didn't you hate the Wii a couple months ago? :P I still feel that Super Mario 64 was the best launch title ever.

Though, of course, "best" launch title is subjective. I would agree that it is my favourite launch title; but it has some tough competition.. too tough to label it as the best for sure.
Score alone does not determine which game is greater. Gamespot itself has awarded games with lesser scores over those with higher scores in the past.

No, actually it wouldn't be.
You see, twilight princess was released as a wii game where as god of war is being released as a ps2 game.
Twilight princess is great on the wii, nearly every major reviewer agreed that the wii version was superior to the cube version.. including gamespot.

Captain Obvious is here to save the day! Of course they launched it with the Wii to boost the console's sales. And it was a damn smart move, don't you think? If there's any difference between the versions (e.g., controls, widescreen support, etc.), they're different enough to be hyped. Weren't cows hyping GoW2 as being better on the PS3 under the impression that it would output in 720p?
Well it truly was a great game, i wouldnt call it the best launch game. Besides, we are here at gamespot, so it was scored 8.8. But god damn the Twili Fossil boss was amazing!
Honestly, I'd take Halo because of multiplayer. My copy of TP is in my Wii, but it has not grapsed me as it seems to have done to so many fans here. But whatever.
I havent played it on the Wii, so I cant really judge. I did like it on the GCN, but OoT and Wind Waker might have been better. I have to play it some more and let it sink in before I know for sure though.
Gamespot did a "Best Launch Games of All Time" feature a while ago. If I recall correctly, there were three Mario games in the top four, and Tetris for Gameboy was #1.
