Good job TC... add more fuel to the fire... we all know Infamous won now lets just let this war die.

I'm sure he hated Halo Wars. Sounds like someone takes Yahtzee's videos a little to seriously.
Gxgear
Yahtzee hated Halo Wars because he hates RTS games. Like he hates JRPGs and MMORPGs as well. I don't even know why he reviews (if his videos can be called reviews) those games, because he hates them before even playing them.
[QUOTE="TheGreatOutdoor"]
HAHA that was great. I guess in the end, he like both games that same. Infamous is one of the games on my "to get" list of PS3 games. Prototype i will be getting for PC (I get all multiplats on PC unless my kids want it also).
Did'nt reviewers single out the ps version as the best one (even counting the pc)? I think they did. Otherwise the idea of getting it for pc is sound.
Its a lie.. The only difference between the two versions are graphics.. And after playing both versions for PS3 and the PC.. The PC looks alot better.. And I actually like the control scheme of mouse and keyboard for this game than the ps3 controler actually for this game.. Though you can use a gamepad all the same for the pc version as well.. The graphics are indeed better on the PC.. But that really shouldnt be your main reason whether you should get one or the other in the end..[QUOTE="aaronmullan"][QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]He does? The PoP titles are inferior titles? I guess Portal is inferior also, according to BioshockOwnz.Yahtzee usually ends up liking the inferior titles, so I'm not sure this speaks well for inFAMOUS.

And Psychonauts....and Saints Row 2....and Bioshock

Oh and too add to the ever expanding list; Chains of Olympus. My oh my how Yatzhee just loves "inferior" games.

I knew he liked it :P Chains of Olympus is just one of those inferior games, you know? That looks and scores highly, but it is still somehow inferior.i used to get all angry whenever people would talk about how awesome zp was because the guy still doesnt understand the basics of humour, but then i realized whose fault it really was--the people who do think its funny. imo hes the carlos mencia of video games.
All that matters on these forums are Gamespot scores.
Going by that Prototype is the inferior title compared to the AAA score inFAMOUS received. :)

Halo wars got AA everywhere else.
Any way you slice it, Halo Wars is still a RTS watered down to be playable on the console, doesn't even compare to PC RTS titles.
I don't think Halo Wars was even a good example of console RTS. Tiberium *sp?* Wars killed it beforehand.
If Halo Wars had taken a leaf out of World in Conflicts book it would have been true to the halo universe and not some frigging fan service that to this day people are in damage control about, it would have scored highly everywhere else for a decent reason. Halo Wars was a run of the mill rts game.
---
that was quite a good review actually, I thought it was really funny, but tbh I did find use for guns in Prototype because I like using disguises all the time.

Consoles either need to adapt to Mouse and keyboard for RTS's.. Or drop RTS's all together and go after turn based strategy games... In which it would not have to be dumbed down to fit the controls. How could anyone glean a winner from that, let alone say he ripped Prototype a new one? He basically said Prototype is much more fun while Infamous is much more coherent.DarthBilf
I'm noticing that Prototype gets a lot of unjust hate here because it's a multiplat title.
Cole is no more an interesting character than Alex Mercer is and both stories are weak.
The building textures in inFamous suffer from the same copy and paste design flaw that Prototype does, but Prototype is set in a real place and has real landmarks and buildings in it, so I'd give it the edge (But I live in NY and work in Manhattan so I'm biased, take it with a grain of salt)
Both games suffer from the annoying"cheap enemy syndrome" although Prototype seems to be made by people that hate gamers at times.
Neither game should be praised graphically as they both are pretty average for next gen games. But that is to be expected in a large open world game.
I think people are really going overboard with the praise for inFamous and the negativity for Prototype. It is possible to enjoy both games. To be honest, after extensive play with both games, I'm really having a hard time deciding which is better.
About the violence, why are people condemning Prototype's violence and yet some of these same people are wetting their pants over God of War 3?

Precisely why I was more interested in Prototype. I agree with some devs who say "good storytelling needs to be on rails". Sandbox is great fun, ok storytelling, imo.[QUOTE="Leejjohno"][QUOTE="Gxgear"]

Cool opinion bro. I liked Halo Wars. I'm not damaged so no need for control. It was fun, that's all I asked from it.If you knew what my issue was with the game you would see there was more to it than simple opinions. For a start have you ever played WiC?

[QUOTE="sSubZerOo"] Havn't seen the video yet (it won't load for some reason).. But I don't see how Prototype or infamous are a rip off of one or the other.. Other than it being a sandbox environment and your this powerful figure.. The games are nothing alike.. They don't even play the same.Gxgear
How else does 2 games with extremely similar ideas, being superhero sandbox games, gets released within weeks of each other?
Prototype will go down in history as a mimic to inFamous though, being the victim of a later release date.
Right, because Activision saw Infamous, and threw Prototype together in a month.[QUOTE="Filthybastrd"][QUOTE="TheGreatOutdoor"]

Well even if you take out the whole good and evil thing in my eyes its still a better developed world and story. Mainly cause the characters were actually interesting and city actually felt like it had a personality. Also boss fights in proto were meh imo. I was really dissapointed in the last boss fight felt so phoned in.

It was pretty obvious to me a few hours in what the deal was. And the only character I really liked was Sasha, because she was BS crazy. Everybody else was meh. imo.
I thought that both the dead drops in inFamous and the Web of Intrigue in Prototype were cool ways to fill outwhat were two pretty weak stories though. But I did get tied of looking for satelitte dishes after a while.

The characters were also developed in Prototype, albeit through the different Webs of Intrigue events. That was the primary vehicle for the story in the game. If you haven't gotten 100% on WOI, you have absolutely no room to talk about the character development. Mercer is probably one of the more unique protagonists we've seen in a long time. PS: Its not like the boss fights in Infamous were all that much better.

Ok so im near getting all the WOI,but I stoped because the game got a bit boringand its not like the WOI guys pop up every 5 seconds so you gatta jump around and hope.Every character in that game was around for a tiny bit and didint really feel developed. Noone stood out execpt for that twist in the end with alex. Also yea the last boss fight destroys protos last boss imo mainly cause its not a reused of a boss you faught earlyer. How freaking lazy was that. Design something that looks interesting not the same exact guy I fought 2 boss fights ago. I had fun with prototype, but infamous just felt more like a complete package to me.
Just as expected. Prototype is more just brainless, bloody gameplay. Infamous is more focused on telling a story and having a point.PoppaGamer
Just as you expected? Why don't you play both? If yea did..,,,,you would not have taken it that far..,,,,They both have their good and bad points...
