Today is a WONDERFUL day. A glorious day, and perhaps one of the most important days of this gen.

VG chartz doesn't have the exact numbers, but they are close. You can use any site you want and personally I go by vg chartz in between NDP numbers. And even if the Wii hasn't actually outsold the 360 yet, it will soon. Very soon. And since we can never know the exact numbers, why not go by vgchartz?

I'm actually starting to be skeptical that can happen. This is not to say that there won't be a rise in 360 sales because there will be with the price cut and Halo 3, but I do think that all the Wii needs to do to maintain the lead is continue to sell as well as it has been till the day Halo 3 releases.

So short of MS selling 2+ million during those two months, I don't really see them doing that at all.

didn't Microsoft announce that they sold 11 million a few months ago? VG chartz is a terrible site even though they're indpendent or whatever, they totally ignore announcements from the big 3. Like in Janurary when the 360 hit 10 million, it was still 9 for a while, and earlier when the wii was announced to have sold 6 million, it was still 5 for a long time.FlawlessSeasons

Right, but the PS3 isn't a steak. It's basically a steak that has been mashed up pretending to be a hamburger with an overcharged price. So basically, everything that was good about the steak has been removed.

I like the Wii because people are so crazy with Wii fever that I had the opportunity to trade my Wii straight up for a PS3 and jumped on it.

This coming X-mas Wii owners are pretty much sitting in the drivers seat, those things will skyrocket on the scalping circuit.

Right. We're pretty much approaching the season where all the good games are coming out.

What I don't understand is that all consoles went through the summer droughts with very few good games being released, and yet people keep complaining about the Wii not having games on it. So people need to be happy that the fall lineup is coming up and the games will start pouring out for all 3 systems.

I don't think that will make much difference only because Wii is selling incredibly well in ALL 3 Markets. If anything the XBox 360 will probably get close to matching the Wii numbers in Sept & Oct, but not exceeding them. The real test will be in Novemeber and December. I'm not sure which system will excel with all 3 platforms on retail shelves in high quantities. It should be interesting.

Here's flaws with your logic.

1). Like hamburgers and steak the PS3 and Wii aren't in direct competition. Why do people fail to realize that the PS3 is in a different market? They're setting their own pace. I don't think I've ever heard Kutaragi, Kaz, or Phil refer to the PS3 as a gaming console. The proper thing to call it is an in home media hub. That's what they're calling it. If you can't already tell, Sony isn't concerned with competing with the 360 or Wii. That's like saying that George Foreman grills are in direct competiton with microwaves.

2). Irrelevant

3). With all the PS3's other attributes its dependance on software sales is minimized. Some, if not most people buy the PS3 for the other features

4). Quality is not like beauty and therefore is not in the eye of the beholder. The fact that the Wii is less durable, has less features and less high rated games overall make it inferior.
