Hi, I just joined, very glad to be a member. I'm glad I'm not the only 30-something lurking on these boards. I am currently saving up to upgrade my computer, or buy a new one completely so I can play Oblivion. Ok, don't know what else to say, she said self consciously. Bye! cawscorp
H'lo.
I'm 26, mixed descent, British nationality, working overseas. I lecture part-time and play in a band for fun. Gaming has been a long-time hobby with me, probably due to all the moving I've done and consequently little opportunity to collect friends instead :p
I'm one of those activist nuts who resent the increasing intrustion of the Content Cartel's controls over how we use their products. Needless to say I play a lot of niche games, and shoving something at me and saying come on try this, everyone likes it! is a surefire way of making me hate it instantly :p I do my own reading up about games and stuff but most of my experience of new games comes from watching my brother who is also an avid gamer, and observing my friends who run a cybercafe - they have loads and loads of games so I'm aware of most of the new stuff floating around. I also own most of the consoles out there but I spend less time on them. I dislike online multiplayer games but I have plenty of LAN buddies if I feel like multiplaying. I also like to read. A lot. Manga, fanfiction, and sci-fi. In that order. I play the keyboard and synths in my band btw. I hate movies - I think I watched 5 this year. And only 1 was a new one. Music, feh. Nothing in the charts, nothing on the radio. I import game soundtracks and that's what my band plays. We need a new bassist though, ours left to get married.
Life's too short, run with scissors.
I was considering starting an adult's union, glad to see there already is one (so I started one for writers instead!).
I'm Jem, 29, from Australia. I don't mind chatting to the younger gamers but it'd be nice to talk games with people my own age a little more too. Especially lately, as I have way too much time on my hands.

High fives back to ya Jemlyn! Like they say, you're as young as you feel.:D
Hello All,
I can't stress how happy I am to have found a union with members I can relate to!!!!! I've been a member for about a year and a half and up until recently I haven't seen any members remotely close to my age. I stumbled upon this union and finally felt like I wasn't the only gamer over the age of 12! Thank you SO much for having a union for Adult Gamers. At least I feel at home as a member of GameSpot....

Hey, everyone. Like the rest of you, I am so glad to have other people to talk to about gaming. I never played when I was a kid, but have had a blast for the last 6-7 years. But I get strange looks from most of the folks I know when I tell them I love to play video games.
I play ps2 and pc games and have two big questions (one of which was discussed in an earlier thread). I'm trying to decide about buying the ps3 or investing in some other platform in addition to the playstation. Any further thoughts?
I'm also very curious, but timid about on-line gaming. I LOVE rpgs, but am shy about getting online and getting to know people. I don't really have anyone else to form a group with. Any advice?
Hi All,
I've been playing games since the Intellivision Days, then moved up to Sega Genesis, PC, Xbox and now, XBox360. I'm 36 and live in Southern NH with my wife, two kids and two cats.
Currently I'm playing GRAW on the 360. Soon I'll be blowing up Birds of Prey in Star Trek: Legacy. If you're interested... send me a friend request to my Live gamertag... SparkyEE
See you online!

Hey All,
This is truly refreshing to actually find a group, or should I say Union, of Adult Gamers.
I'm in my mid 30's, living in Gainesville, FL with my family. I've been seeking adult gamersto playXbox 360 games with online! Unfortunately those contacts are few and far between:?. I've been gaming since the early days of Radio Shack "Pong" ,Intellivision, ColecoVision and Atari cartridges.
If anyone is looking to play please send a friend request toXbox 360 Gamer Tag:"dboy 18a" :) ! Please let me know your from the Union!
Insight:
For some time now, shortly after the release of “Rainbow Six Black Arrow“, I’ve seen a steady decline in civility throughout the online Gaming Community L . Unfortunately, the friends that I had come to know quite well, didn’t upgrade to the Xbox 360. Shortly after that, I found it hard to meet adult gamers with similar interests, including gaming styles.
Hopefully through his Forum I will earn the respect of some new friends who enjoy gaming as much or more than I do:D. Finding people who play games with similar gaming styles is never easy.
When “Ghost Recon, Advanced Warfighter” came out I was lucky to play with a group of military minded, tactical thinking, individuals who helped me achieve the rank of General (25) & #4 on the Top Ten list within five days. Unbelieveably I managed to stay in the top 100 for 3 months without playing one ranked match after reaching 25. Utilizing solid teamwork, quick reflexes, & spec-ops inspired ambush & flanking techniques were very successful against "run -n- gun" style of gameplay. It wasn’t long after that I realized I set myself up for all kinds of attacks from people of all ages, while in the top ten (mostly young gamers). Calling me names, sending me threatening messages etc… I’m sure you’ve all been there, done that, got the tee-shirt ,hat, coffee mug, bumper sticker, bobble-head doll and ash tray.
Man I just want to play:
I ‘m a die hard techie who loves to see what developers can throw at us next. Gaming is more than a hobby to me, it is a way to meet good people with similar interests who just want to have fun. Don’t get me wrong kicking some a** and taking names is fun too, but I like to take the High road by not tearing apart my adversaries when the fight is done. I like to thank my opponents for a solid round!
My Best Games:
Teams that stay frosty, use 360 degree cover techniques, while working together towards the same objective, what a rush! When it is done right there is nothing like it, Bound, Cover-Fire & Flank. The best teams I've had the privilege to be a part of trust and have Mutual Respect for one another. The best games I've been lucky to play a part in, always used proper planning and tactics.
"The general who wins the battle makes many calculations in his temple before the battle is fought. The general who loses makes but few calculations beforehand." - Sun Tzu, "The Art of War"
So thank you to all for being part of the Adult Gamers Union! It is without a Shadow of a Doubt this Union has renewed my faith that Adults like to play. Many thanks for your time, Let the Games Begin!

U don't really have to be shy, U'r not forced to talk to anybody. I myself hardly talk to the other players unless they seem to be nice people. But if you are interested in online then your safe bet would be to go with the 360. And if u do decide to get into online gaming it will really expand your gaming and add some great replay value to some games.
Since you're into RPGs u probably already played oblivion on you're PC. If u haven't its an awesome RPG for the 360 console, I think it might also be coming to PS3. That and look out for MAss Effect also coming to the 360. That one looks like a really killer sci-fi action RPG.
Wow sometimes u do get what u want. I had just made a post ranting about how there should be some sort of "adult" forum...and here I am. Well HELLO everbody my real name is Alex I'm from Canada. Right now I'm playing GOW. DUHH! lol. I just beat it on hardcore and I'm hoping they release another update for it soon, the online is a little glitchy. My next purchase will probably be Viva Pinata...Just can't resist the packaging ;-). Anywho Thanks to the creators of this union I hope its peacefull here, if u know what I means.St_Stu

Hey everybody! I just joined the Union today. I've been a Gamespot member for a few months, but I've been coming here for a long time. I'm glad to see a union for adults.
I'm married, have a son (1 1/2), and I live in Texas. I've been gaming all my life, from video games to table-top rpgs to paintball. I've had a NES, SNES, Gameboy, GBA, GBA SP, and a Gamecube. This Christmas I got both a DS and a Wii, so I'm really stoked about all the new titles available for me and my family.
I hope to have a good time here. I've been trying to find a better sense of community on G.S. for a while, and I think this Union is a good place to start.
