Two movie news from IGN:
Two weeks after she slammed Wonder Woman and reportedly passed on playing Lara Croft comes a rumor about another genre film that Transformers starlet Megan Fox is reportedly under consideration to star in.
Cinefools claims to have heard from an industry source that Fox is being eyed to play the title role of Buffy Summers in the recently announced big-screen relaunch of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The new movie will not involve Joss Whedon or be tied in anyway to either the 1992 film or the TV series starring Sarah Michelle Gellar that followed.
We recommended Fox, along with several other young hotties, to play the vampire slayer in our recent Buffy Casting Couch column.
IGN contacted Buffy producer Roy Lee about the rumor, who said, "The rumors of Megan Fox being involved with Buffy are just rumors. As with any film project with a female lead under the age of 30, Megan is the actress that most studios want so it is no surprise her name is mentioned. While I think she would be great for our project, we are still in the early stages of developing the script."

James Bond is reportedly heading back to Afghanistan.
007 previously traveled there in 1987's The Living Daylights, where he crossed paths with opium dealers, arms smugglers, and the mujahideen. Now The Guardian claims that Bond 23 might see 007 squaring off against the drug dealers of Afghanistan's Helmand province "after scriptwriters sought technical advice from the British embassy in Kabul."
"Speculation that at least some of the next Bond adventure will be set in the volatile southern province of Afghanistan has been running high since a member of the Foreign Office's drug-busting team in the country began acting as a consultant for the Bond franchise last summer," according to the British newspaper. "The official involved, who has since left the Foreign Office and Afghanistan, is believed to have signed a confidentiality agreement with the filmmakers preventing any discussion of the project."
Helmand, as the paper points out, is the center of Afghanistan's heroin trafficking operations and drug-funded insurgency against British troops.
CommanderBond.net reminds us that last year's bestselling Bond novel Devil May Care, penned by Sebastian Faulks, revolved around the Persian opium trade, while Ian Fleming's short story Risico -- later used as the basis for the plot to the film For Your Eyes Only and an oft-rumored possibility as a future Bond screen adaptation -- also dealt with narcotics trafficking. It should be pointed out that Bond producers have previously shot down the idea of adapting the period tale Devil May Care for the screen.

It might even confirm that he isn't playing the part I think it is safe to say that he won't. If he does end up being cast than it's going to be worse than when people learned that some blond guy was going to be Bond.
