Alette, buzzled by the sudden disappearence ofthe threat, watches the two for a moment. Then she walks to her scythe still lying on the ground, puts away her sword and dagger, and picks up the weapon. "Now this should be fun," she says and smiles.
At the edge of the smoke, there is an explosion, and the crystal shards are sent flying off-course. The smoke is pushed back to reveal Spectre's calm face. The smoke clears more, and a pair of long wooden handles can be seen crossing in front of him. The smoke disappears, and at the end of the handles, a pair of curved metal blades are seen sitting on the ground. Two black-gloved hands, barely visable, reach down and grab the handles, lifting the scythes off the ground.
Spectre stopped his forwards motion a couple of ranges away from Alette. "And here I thought you were playing with him." He reversed the grip of his left hand, the scythe blade behind him, pointing outwards. His right hand went up, letting the scythe handle fall onto his shoulder, the blade behind, pointing outwards.
"Oh, there's enough of me for both of you," Alette smiled. Her right hand made a lazy visit to her belt. "More than enough."
Without warning she moved. Her right hand stretched out towards Jade, releasing a handful of small detonators, as she at the same time leaped towards Spectre. The detonators hit the branch, and the whole tree was engulfed in roaring flames.
Alette brought her right hand back to the handle and the blade of her scythe rushed up towards Spectre's abdomen.
Spectre turns his body sideways to dodge. His hands tense, ready to deliver the fatal blow. He stops. The figure in front of him had become transparent, and had soon disappeared completely. "Curious, the forest must not have liked her."
I was going to kill her, but after dg's post, it seemed more appropriate this way. Easier too:P
"And you would know?" Spectre wonders at Jade's apparent familiarity given that he introduced himself as a stranger. He also takes a few steps backwards, away from the place where Alette had disappeared.
