Welcome to the union, if you feel there are more topics you want that arent already on here then please feel free to make them.
Hi, I am Ishtiaque. I am an ol' timer, compared to many of you guys. I am 28, I work full time, and I live in Bangladesh, a south Asian country near to India. Been playing games since childhood, and I am more of a PC afficionado than console fan.DeadManRollin
Welcome to the Union!
Hi, I'm David and I'm from Northern Ireland. I am a huge fan of Warhammer 40,000 and Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. I currently collect Space Marines (standard book, but non-codex) and Eldar, and enjoy fielding as many big, hard specialist units you can fit in an army, even with the idiotic new Scoring Unit rules.
In ordinary gaming I enjoy RPGs and adventure games, large-scale commanding games eg. advance Wars and shooters, especially Halo and Star Wars Battlefront 2. I have legendary Gunslinger, technician, Frenzy, Endurance, Guardian and War Hero, my Kill/death ratio is 14.58 approx. and my points per life is 22.
Outside of gaming I enjoy listening to music. My favourite genre is Rock, and my favourite artists are Snow Patrol, Evanescence, Green Day and Nickelback. I don't mind Pop and some RnB music but I hate Rap. It is not music, it is people talking to a rythm, and that is not music.

Ah nice, I used to collect Warhammer 40K as well, I had Imperial Guard and Space Marines with a bit of Eldar as well. I used to get White Dwarf all the time a few years ago. I dont know what its like now but we used to have a club for playing it but it took far too long to do in lunch hour XD
Â
Some nice music and gaming there, I hope you like it here and welcome :)
I've been posting on these boards a little while now and thought I should say as little about myself.
Â
My name is Paul and I live in Lincoln, England, with my GF who thankfully is also into gaming, so understands when I must stay up to frag one more fragger.
Â
I'm old enough to have owned a sinclair spectrum and in my time I've owned pretty much every mainstream console out there, from the master system to the mega drive to the snes, n64, playstation, gamecube and xbox360. PS2 never really interested me though. I currently own a Nintendo DS and enjoy many hours with it or on my pc where I multiplayer FPPS with friends.
Currently at university as a mature student, reading History and I'm about to undertake my final semester, so stress and dissertation are due.
Â
Anyway, I enjoy visiting this group every couple of days or so because most of you guys seem real friendly, unlike other forums I've posted on which could very quickly become 'who has the biggest k**b and can wave it in the most faces, wins', which obviously sucks.
Â
Keep up the good work.
Cool, welcome to the union.
Do you have any of the home consoles still or have you got rid of them?
What are you playing on DS and PC?
Unfortunately, when I was growing up my bedroom was not very big and so I had no space to store all my old consoles. That and selling them to the right collectors enabled me to buy "the next model". The only real regret I have there (as quite a lot of my old faves have been re-released or bettered since ie Chrono Trigger) is that I got rid of my Dreamcast, a noisy but highly under-rated console. I still play Quake 3 Arena to this day having first owned it on that console, though the PC version is just as good and is well supported by ID and the fans.
Â
My worst purchase was probably a 360. I loved the couple of games I owned on it but Oblivion gave me the red rings of death after my warrenty expired and it is sadly mothballed at my mums house, an expensive piece of plastic. Controller is the best I've ever used though.
Â
At the moment I'm playing Q3Arena, just because I re-installed it not so long ago and even single player it's still a blast. Neverwinter Nights gets picked up every now and then. Most of my pc gaming recently however has been as an ally on Red Alert, after downloading it free from the EA site, well that and Total War (I own the version 1 complete collection).
Â
On the DS, well that depends, but at the moment I'm playing Luminous Arc in order to 100% the game, then I'll move on to FFtactics DS or The World Ends With You, depends how I feel.
Â
A friend is trying to convince me to buy either Warcraft 3 or Dawn of War - so I may be stuck on my pc for a while!!!
Have a look at our Dawn of War thread, there are a fair few of us that play that game here.
Some nice games there, I did the same trading consoles in but I regret it now. I sold far too many of them and all my best games :(

Yeah, but we all do things we regret in hindsight. Good thing for you is that if you were a fan of the megadrive then I believe there is a 360 compilation coming out for live which has over 40 cool games.
Welcome to the union, Paul. I am new as well. Good to see you're a Quake fan, too. I've never played online much, but I think it's one of the best games ever, and UT doesn't come close to it. I was highly disappointed with Quake 4. DeadManRollin

Quake 3 Arena rocks - I'm just getting back into playing online but their are not too many servers in Europe. How about in Bangladesh? You should play online, it does rock. Perhaps one of us should start a quake appreciation thread?
Im Ryan, im a young'n only 15, but i still have a suprising amount of knowledge for oldschool games, im a metal head and even though i enjoy FPSs more than strategy games, im in love with almost every command and conquer game, or AoE.
I think that the greatest games in the world (in order) are Zelda:Ocarina of time, Oblivion, and Dead space.
I'm a huge metalhead, specifically old school thrash metal and heavy metal (Megadeth, Maiden, Judas Priest)
Welcome to the union Octacon, I hope you enjoy it here :)
If you have any qyestions or sugestions dont hesitate to ask away.

In Bangladesh, we are still relying in low speed cable connectivity, where the speed fluctuates a lot. At home I have a 128 kb line, which isn't really that great for playing games online. The best I can manage is playing DOTA....we have a Bangladesh room in Garena (a matchmaking client). But some wimax operators are opening up, and 3G will also be launched in near future, so the online gaming community might flourish in future. Where do you live, by the way?

Hello all! I'm VK44 from good ol' New Jersey. I'm 18 years old and currently enjoying my senior year in high school.
Â
Funny enough, my first computer game was Red Alert..and now I'm still a big fan of the Command and Conquer series (though Generals ruined it for me for a while...). Anyways, I also live FPS's. I don't usually play RPG's because I don't have the patience..but that's not set in stone  ;)
Â
I play computer games, Wii, and XBox (though pc is my favorite by far)
Â
It's good to meet my fellow union members!
