[QUOTE="HyruleanLink"][QUOTE="REVOLUTIONfreak"]A new handheld is a little out there... Nintendo has no reason to introduce a new handheld. Iwata even said it himself, why fix what isn't broken? Or in other words, why make a new handheld when the current one is still selling so well?[QUOTE="HyruleanLink"]I saw an ad on G4 for E3 and they gave it theme this E3 like "The Battle of Games." I guess that is going to happen this E3 is game updates/ announcements. In another union, someone suggested a new handheld by Nintendo at this E3. I looked at this a little weird because isn't early for a new handheld??? Also the DS has only been out for about 2 years..... I think.Agreb91
I think that a new handheld could be introduced late next year, and then released maybe the following holiday season (2009), but otherwise that is just outrageous. Oh, and the DS will be three this coming November.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought it was early for a new handheld. Also you bring up a good point about how well the DS is selling and with good reason. Also by that quote from Iwata convinces that they won't show off a new handheld.Nintendo really has no reason to introduce a new handheld. Like Iwata said. The DS is doing very well in it's sales and it has a terrific growing library.
I really wouldn't want a new handheld ... I find the DS as the elite handheld. You can touch the screen and just play classical with the D-Pad/A+B.

Or maybe it will have a control stick and a/b/x/y buttons as will.
I updated the prediction update on the hompage with this.

Final thoughts is all will say they are winning and brag about success however. the only real winner from the numbers standpoint is Nintendo. Hopefully they can bring some good games and interesting new IP's. I think this small E3 will have the same impact as the rest and even thought it has been downsized will remain a high note for the industry.
