Is it just me, or is the Wii ruining the games we have come to know and love?

This is just my opinon, but I think it is. The games I am (was) looking forward to most are now making me skeptical because of the Wii's sucky, non-complex controller, and the fact that almost every game that has come out has been a gimic. I really like the Mario Party, Pokemon, Paper Mario, and Metroid Prime series, but the only one I still kinda wanna get because I think it'll be good is MP3C. It's the only game that seems to stick to the series' "formula." It probably won't be as complex, though, but that's what you get and expect when you get a Wii. Mario Party 8: no skill needed. Pokemon Battle Revolution: gimic (no real single-player value). Super Paper Mario: simple. Metroid Prime 3: probably simple. If games are going to keep becoming easier and less complex just to appeal to a general audience then I probably just won't play them anymore. The PS3 is the only other consol I could imagine myself getting, but I ain't payin' 600 frickin' dollars. And I don't usually use slang, but that called for it. If anyone wants to bring to my attention to any game for the Wii BESIDES ZELDA AS I DON'T LIKE ZELDA that is as complex and intriguing as the original Paper Marios, Metroid Primes, and Pokemon Colleseums, and as fun and satisfying as the original Mario Partys, then please let me know. And doesn't anyone feel the same as I do?

What's wrong with Super Paper Mario? The Wii didn't "ruin" that, as that game was originally a Cube project anyway.

Also, while in some areas I agree with what your saying, I think you may be overexaggerating. Mario Party is still the same as ever, which unfortunately is kind of crappy. MP3: C is looking solid, SSBB is turning out well, and SMG is breathtaking. I don't think that Wii is necessarily ruining the existing franchises, I just think that they are being alienated by the new casual games.

Some current games I would probably recommend playing are Super Monkey Ball, SSX Blur (if your into extreme sports), and RE4: Wii Edition if you have yet to play the game. Upcoming games I'd recommned obviously would be MP3: C, SSBB, SMG, FFCC: The Crystal Bearers,Sadness, No More Heroes, and surely Nintendo will have some other interesting games to announce at E3 coming up.

I don't think it is Super Mario Galaxy looks as though it's gonna be ace and so will Super Smash Bros Brawl. Zelda Twilight Princess was good as well.

Although I disagree, I respect your opinion but your points to back it up are horrible. Mario Party 8 wasn't bad because of Wii, the motion control was suppose to help the franchise live again. Since the 2nd Mario Party they have sucked, it's the developer's fault that Mario Party 8 sucked.

Pokemon, all console Pokemon games have been bad. And what do you expect from a clone of Stadium? No one hyped this game, this wouldn't have been better with or without the wii motion controls.

SPM, why do you say SPM is bad? I thought it was a great game, see review. ;) Even if it was bad it isn't a good point because the game was originally for the GC and switched to Wii.

Then for other games I think MP3C will be great with the new controls that mimic PC. And Super Mario Galaxy looks amazing. And SSBB looks to be more of the same, but that's not really a bad thing.

I'm sorry but I just don't see your point the wii is not making games worse with motion sensing it's making them better.

Well some games just don't need motion sensor. For instance SSBB, is perfectly fine without motion sensor and I probably wouldn't of thought about buying it if it didn't offer the regular controller to play it.

Well, SSBB still offers minimal motion controls, or at least Sakurai hinted at it in one of his website updates. Of course, either way you'd still have two traditional control methods.

And still some people are complaining about it because it's offering more controls options ... I'll never understand fanboys.

Four Kinds of Control

Game Modes

The Nintendo Wii really is a versatile piece of hardware.
I mean, when it comes to controllers, there are pretty much four different types.

I guess I have no choice but implement them all!

Wii Remote (turned on its side), Wii Remote + Nunchuk, ****c Controller, GameCube Controller

There's no need to be confused about what does what-just choose the play ****you prefer!

I suppose I would recommend the Nintendo GameCube controller, though. I like the feel of that powerful rumble.

Still, try out the other controls-they definitely give you a fresh experience.

Hmm? How do you do smashes and dashes with just the Wii Remote?
If I get the chance to tell you, I will.

You really didn't give any good examples. Pokemon was the only game you cited, and we all knew it would be garbage. The only thing I'll agree with you about is the sports series. All sports games are terrible on the Wii because of the controls, but the rest of your post is rather unfounded.

As my example for this topic I'm going to use one of my Favorite games ever and the last thing that comes to mind it that "The Wii ruined it." Resident Evil 4 was definitely greatly improved in the making on the Wii. The Aiming, Reloading, the edge of your seat fun. I don't really see what your trying to get at because I don't see anything wrong. The Wii is extremely fun, even after play Mario Striker, Metroid Prime, even Wii Sports were a huge improvement and are all fun ... It's hard to say that They "Ruined" the games that you came to love. Sure, they changed, but it seems like for the good of all of us.

I agree with you and at the same time I disagree with you.

Because of the Wii's motion sensing controls, some games like Gears of War and Kane and Lynch: Dead Men are going to be X360 or PS3 exclusives, because there really isn't much use for motion-sensing controls in those games and the graphics are too much for the Wii to handle.

On the OTHER hand, the Wii is not "ruining" previous Nintendo games like Super Paper Mario, MP3, and especially Super Mario Galaxy. It's just different, and in some ways, it's actually making them more innovative. If you don't like change, just move on kid because that's whats happening here.
