i see it as bogus, obviously if the person were a true rep hed know he cant let out info like that into the public, or hed get fired. Besides, Nintendo cant afford a delay. No offense, but even Nintendo knows that if they
a) dont launch Wii before PS3 their sales will drop greatly
b) if they launch it after the holiday season....well....lets just say expect that market share to decrease rather than increase
By having a delay AND a price drop, it would defeat the entire purpose of the system altogether. Manufacturing problems arent handled by increasing price, that makes no sense. That would mean the PS3 would be $900 if they couldnt make all the parts, which is false. Nintendo now has the oppuritune time to strike the industry and make some noise, but if they fail to take advantage of that oppuritunity in the near future, it will be the end of Nintendo's console days. Besides, IGN said they have seen the final hardware and everything looks top notch
if that DID which it wont becouse
1. nintendo has already sent dev-kits out there so it must be good,
2. employee plz why would nintendo say anything to him? or that store?
3. If its over 250 (which iwata said it wouldnt surpass) nintendo would loose sales from little children."
4 nintendo woulda said something to EVERYONE
5. Wii ambasadors have spent a freaking day playing Wii already like a week ago so shut up
6. Wii controller at e3=great(no bugs)
7. that guy was a scared little cow, trying to scare a sheep and make him feel bettrer about the ps3 failing
*puff gasp*
there i said it
Totally bs! I mean cmon! You asked a rep at WAL MART! They don't know anything there!kman219I was going to say the excact same thing ! What would a Nintendo rep. be doing at WAL-MART ?
hey now - let's not attack the wal mart employee! we'll presume he's innocent and the guilty culprit is the 'nintendo rep' which i think isn't actually a n rep - but more a *game distributor for wal mart(s)*
nintendo has already fluffed off the wiimote problems
uh, and if there were problems - it wouldn't cause the price to up - they have worked out compnent costs over the past couple of YEARS, any problems in the manufacturing pipeline are the responsibility of the manufacturer......and as some have already said - FINAL dev kits have been shipped already.
they wouldn't be moving forward with the wii ambassador program if there were problems
the different pieces of wii aren't 'hard to come by' they are all components easily availble and manufactured.
i call all of this BS.
the ds didnt have wifi at launch, and that didnt flop did it? Besides, if they delay the system it is 99% liekly to fail....timing is critical for Nintendo this timeREVOLUTIONfreakbut that was a handheld. the quirky factor of it was ok but with consoles the marketing scheme is different. it will not fail it if is delayed. all of the gamers that really want one will wait if it means waiting for a system that is right, timing is never critical.....it's always how you launch and what unique things you have to that system for the first 6 months that matter most.

No....but they do in the holiday season. Thats hat makes the plan so perfect. Besides, Nintendo has already confirmed that everything is on schedule for a Q4 release. Face it, your weirdo walmart representative didnt know what the hell he was talking about. Really though, if it were a NIntendo rep obviosuly he wouldnt work at walmart for one thing, and he would live in WASHINGTON....unless you really do live in washington lol
this is BS, Nintendo Wii doesnt have any problems, loads and loads of people have played the games recently with a prototype controller and they all worked fine, and EA and Ubisoft have both said they will have around 6-7 games ready for launch.
Plus dvelopers have all said the Wii is the easiest and funnest console to develop for and their have been no problems, plus nintendo always build qaulity consoles. And the Wii will have online play at launch its only most third party games that wont because final dev kits with WiFi were only sent out recently, but first party games will still have online play.
I never said she was right. Also yes they are marketing to all not just gamers but holiday season.....Idk still about that b/c ppl get things they know they want for X-mas. Also, I was just sharing this rumor with all of you to talk about. No reason to flame me for it. Lgndryhrya sorry, but really, a WALMART rep? Think about it... WALMART!?
you really think they havent run into problems? wow all of you are blind. yes a prototype not the actual.....please think before you speak....at least REVfreak is. and check ur grammer before speaking too. these games will not all be out on the system launch day. launch means within the first 6 months....they never said they would be available day one. yea they always build quality consoles but that doesnt mean they dont have trouble along the way. there will NOT be online at launch. currently none of the games have online features.this is BS, Nintendo Wii doesnt have any problems, loads and loads of people have played the games recently with a prototype controller and they all worked fine, and EA and Ubisoft have both said they will have around 6-7 games ready for launch.

online - the term is being used pretty liberally here. VC will be ONLINE day one, Wii will be ONLINE day one....oh games to be played over the WiFi network...THAT online!!! Well, who knows if there will be WiFi enabled titles day one.....does it really matter when most joe schmoes will be downloading old games anyway??? I say put away the flamethrowers until after the announcements this month.
This whole ' nintendo is doing a gamecube all over again' is what I would call speaking without thinking. Be clear on one thing, the network is already running on which you will play Wii games...it's called the WiFi network, we'll be playing online similer to DS style of online. They aren't investing millions into WiFi just for DS and then dumping millions more into another network for Wii....WiFi will handle the 'online' gaming sessions - it make sense, common sense. VC - another component to compliment within the same network architecture....same goes for any other services we'll be able to access. I am expecting more to come.
Flame off for the time being. And don't bash the employee, it's just info handed over...geez...the Nintendo rep I met in Toronto didn't know jack.

^ Oh yes. And your grammAr FAR surpasses the others by a whole bunch!
Here's an idea; I'll make a topic saying that the Wii will be delayed till Q7, will have a bazillion polybytes and gigapixels, and will cost 72 million dollars. It's true! I swear to God a Gamestop employee told me!
actually there is a small part of me that says it will get a minor delay of some sorts....but I really hope not. Who knows though, I mean if the PS3 could get delayed in Europe AGAIN who is to say Wii wont be delayed? OF course Nintendo isnt stupid though so im sure they will launch it in Q4
[QUOTE="ZeroxtheTuatara"]Yes, do. It'll be funny reading everyones aggravated replys. Lgndryhr, stop fitting about grammar to everyone when your post contains no capitals except for in REVfreaks name. I think Lord Regnier meant currently. Obviously earlier on during development they have had to slow it down a bit, but not right now, are they?Lgndryhri was only picking it out in one person's not everyone's.....please read before you speak. oh noes....no capitals. i believe they should slow down to ensure quality and its done right. last time we all thought the same with the cube and it ended up being dead last and losing devs. i'm just speaking an opinion not saying the rumors are true or false. i wish the best for Nintendo and don't want the see the company that brought gaming back alive in the 80's die because of something silly because the avg gamer wants pretty graphics and nothing but mature titles. dude, this is probably the WORST place to bash the cube lol. The problem wasnt the system itself, it was Nintendo. I really dont think Nintendo had a clue of what the hell they were doing at that point, they just launched the Cube to say they had a console. To be honest, hardware wise it is a greta quality machine..... just as i expect with Wii when it launches. Nintendo has quality hardware, always

All of you can take this however you want.....my brother was talking to a nintendo rep at walmart (he works in the electronics dpt) and she said that they wii is having hardware difficulties and now b/c of it the price has been raised to 325 and they are looking into diff versions like the 360 and PS3. also, from what i'm reading online....it seems the rumor about the controller having bugs now is true and may cause a delay in launch as we are seeing many launch titles being pushed to 2007 now. Maybe it will not come out in time as we were previously told. Please discuss this. Would like people's opinions on this....Lgndryhr
Heh... Walmart...lol:lol:
