FFXII was really good though...

The thing is that after FFX a lot of changes kept occurring to the series.Though FFXII still disappointed me. It is a really good game. There were just a lot of changes. It did not feel like FF to me. I think Final Fantasy XIII is a good game. Though when put up against other FF games it can not help but disappoint. Same with XII. XI is a MMO. Huge change. I must say that I feel as if after FFX the FFs became different......and changing things can disappoint. But does not make them bad games. FFXIII gets a lot of hate. It has a nice innovated turn based system. I felt as they did well with characters. Cid Raines was more interesting than a lot of Cids. They presented intriguing characters. The main problem for me was it felt tedious. FFXIII-2 was better about not making it so tedious, but took a step back for the loss of character. They did not need another MMO either. FFXII was still better than XIII. It had intriguing characters and a brilliant story. Though everyone has their opinion:P.

They need a new IP. I think we will see one soon. Though there are past FFs I like less than XII and XIII. Final Fantasy III is my least favorite FF. FFII is not much higher. I believe that making another MMO was a bad move. SE just wanted more money. It really was not necessary. FFXI is getting another expansion. So two MMOs. SE seems to be doing everything in their power to kill FF. Type-0. Not localized. FFVersus was anounced in 05/06 and still barely know anything about it. SE just needs to alleviate this. XIII still sells well though. XIII is not FF. As I said after X FF has just hit me with disappointments. Though I have enjoyed XI, XII and XIII. I still wish for a FF like X.

Well they may have changed the gameplay a lot in FFXII, but I think they probably made it like that to try to have new players to the series not fall away quickly. FFXII gives a more easier and quicker strategic element, instead of waiting and eterity for the animations to happen. It also had more real time instead of the waiting. They also removed the random encounters, for the better I must add.

For me, I would say that FFXII is above FFX. The story is even better and more complicated in FFXII (yeah, behead me) it got more sidequests and free roaming. Oh and as Irish, I think FFXIII is a component in sh*t and I wont even start with it.

@lordmew, I actually agree that FFXII has a better plot. I love XII don't get me wrong. It just disappointed me. If I can like XIII then I for sure can like XII:P I understand why you guys hate XIII. I do enjoy it; I just do. I prefer almost every other FF to it, but I do like it. I like it at a superficial level if that makes sense. FFX is higher than XII for me. We all have our opinions. I like IX better than both XII and X:P I liked X because of the Tidus and Yuna focus. Have you played Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions( or original)?

Tactics is awesome. I love the original Tactics. It has a really good story. Yeah FFX had the best summoning system in my opinion. I liked VIIIs a lot too. My favorite would either be Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy IX. My favorite used to be Final Fantasy X actually. VII was my first FF as well as my first game. I'm guessing FFVIII was yours;)
