Hi, does anyone else have this one of the main spin offs from Final Fantasy 7, and perhaps the worst one so far (but nevermind that). Does anyone like this game? And what appeals to you about it?
I own it....its ok...I am a Vuncent fan though so i dunno....the story and gameplay was good, but the game was 2 short and it wasnt a freeroam style of game, very linear...like a Devil May Cry game....it was also damn short....
short and easy. but i like it. its a different aspect to ff and i think it was prettyy good. its there first game like that so u cant really judge them all that hard. i liked it for the short time it lasted
It's ok, the FPS concept that is, but it wasn't necessary to make it a FF spin-off. They didn't need to make another FFVII spin-off, but they wanted more money.
I wouldn't say this game isn't needed. After all, everyone wants to know more about one of the most secretive characters in FF history. The story, music and FMV graphics would be the only things that stand out in this game. I wouldn't say i like this game, but I would say that it isn't as bad as everyone think it is. :) And i'm glad that Hamauzu is also doing the music for FFXIII, matches his style [future-tech music]. DoC soundtrack is good, i think a lot of people missed this point.
I would usually say a statement like this is blasphamey, simply based on how not popish and upbeat DoC is, but DoC is just so damn boring. Atleast X-2 had a fun battle system
I loved DoC. I don't play shooters very often which is probably why I like it (the closest thing to a shooter I've played is Tomb Raider). I think I like it cuz its third person. I like to see the character Im playing as. The story is fascinating though and pre Dirge of Cerberus I didn't like Vincent much. Too boring to be honest and I didn't get him at all and I didn't have any interest in his character but after playin this I actually like Vincent. I like this game, I woulda rather it been more RPG but still its good also its a good storyline so I'm happy. Yeah Ok so Im a final fantasy VII fanboy lol. I never realised I was so obsessed lol.

LOL... now you do. And trust me, you're liking the right parts of DoC. The story. That's the true essence of this game. But who can blame gamers for not liking the game because of gameplay, because that's what games are always about.

The only story that should be in a shooter is to explain why you are at the next place to shoot hordes of aliens. One of the greatest shooters of all time, DOOM, didn't even have a story. What shooters need is intense battles and it's clear from the reviews and videos that DoC doesn't have those.

which brings rise to a question. It was actually classified as Shooter RPG in my Japanese game case. Perhaps, it isn't just a shooter. And the RPG part did make a little sense since there was story. But, it's definitely far away from being an RPG itself.
Doom di have a story. Scientests working for the Union Aerospace Corporation were experimenting with teleportation on Mars. They accidently opened a portal to hell. Demons killed everyone. Soldiers were called in. All the soldiers got slaughtered except for you. You also got a bit more story after having beaten each of the episodes. Doom is a personal favorite of mine. It was my first game ever

I suppose it did have a story but the red text you got after each episode wasn't really much. Coincidentally, my first game was also Doom. Well Doom II but they're very similar. Ah, the Half-Life story. Now that is an interesting topic. The story of Half-Life 2 is better but I prefer the Half-Life story. It's a straight sci-fi story that poses a question: What would happen if the human race discovered a way to teleport? The answer: We discover a nihilistic alien species. Two in fact. Then Half-Life 2 takes it beyond that into a more fantasy world. It is still an excellent story but I would have preferred it to have been set in the modern world, not into the future.

Im only level 10 and on chapter 11 so maybe its not so bad. Hey u shud just read the plot story then if u don't wanna play it or borrow it from blockbusters and finish it. If its a bad shooter then that must make it easy rite? and if its easy youll finish it in a couple o dayz
doom! the memories are pouring in. i could never beat that game without the yellow eye cheat. i was only about seven when i played it. doc is different because it has RPG features.

A good battle system is more than can be said about DoC Stop crying just because it was to hard for you. It isnt an RPG so expect a different battle system all together. it is called aiming, and doing the damage yourself. Dont say its crap cos your no good at it.
On another note to fs_metal: Do you just hate all sequels and prequels to FF7, because that is all you same to complain about. 'Advent Children has bad battle cheorgraphy. It is a bad story!' DoC 'It has a bad battle system! Vincent is a man!' All you seem to do is whinge and complain about these sequels when someone brings them up, when there is nothing to do about it

I don't think he would have found the game hard. He has been playing shooters for a long time and this one has a lock on target system. From the videos I have seen, you only need to point the cross-hair near someone and it will finish the aiming itself. Not really "aiming, and doing the damage yourself"
