You don't even need to be a FF fan to know that the firdt FF game was FFI. :|DJ-Lafleur
I meant BEFORE Final Fantasy...you know, the ideas about it...
Soon as I saw this topic I knew it was more of "I know how FF started, I wonder how many others do" (BTW, most of us do) so I decided to do the witty thing and turn the topic against you.
I'm making a note here;
HUGE SUCCESSDarmi
How is it against:?
[QUOTE="Sony_FanBoy"]Is this topic really necessary?DrAwesomeMD
Absolutley!! :D
lol. ok. I guess it is interesting to see how many people know the true history of Square-Enix.When a mommy RPG and daddy RPG love each other very much they do a special dance. And nine months later a chocobo brings a liitle basket with a baby RPG in it.
And thats how RPGs are born.
In this case, it was Dragon Warrior and Ultima doing hte nasty :Pfs_metal
Well, that's taking the "M" rating to a whole new level. :?

I never dreamt that this day would come... :cry:
Heh... now now, is it not "Tina" ?
Yeah, i heard that terra's correct name is actually tina. same thing with ex death being exodus.MASTERBLADEXEx Death being Exodus makes since, but with Terra, it is more than likely the same deal as Freya. Translated quite literally from Japanese, her name comes out as being Freija. If you translate it like that, however, the name looses all meaning. Freya is the name of the Norse goddess of love, and we all know quite well that FF has a history of using names from various mythologies. Terra is a latin word meaning earth. Tina....is just a name. IT makes more sense to think of Terra as her right name in the context that it IS Final Fantasy. How often are characters given 'just a name' instead of a name with some meaning behind it?

Yeah, FF names will have names from Norse mythology, that, or Cid or the name of a kind of Cloud...

I still tend to think that Terra was correctly translated. They didn't correct themselves when they labeled the second world in FFIX Terra. IT was meant as one of many references to previous games in the seriesPlease Log In to post.
