What Got You Interested in Studying/Cooking Foods?

I've noticed a good number of members from this union know a lot about foods, so I decided to make us a thread where we can tell how we got into the hobby of studying or cooking foods.

I first got into the hobby when my ex-gf was into it when I first met her and I found out I liked it also once I started doing it a lot. Before I knew it, I was making meal after meal. :P
