I need to rate the Half Life's 9.0 and above. Half life 1 is a clear 10 though.Â
MagUnreal
I disagree. Half Life 2 was a lot better than the orignial in my opinion.Â
[QUOTE="stephenage"]Or you will rate a 9.5 like I did, the deserved rating.tntkngThat game deserves a 10/10.
Just like i did.siddarthshettySmart man.
Does not deserve a 10.
Nope, it's not as good as Dragon Age: Origins and I didn't even give that a 10. Mass Effect 2 is a bit to streamlined in places, lacks some of the ambition of the previous game and does a terrible job of disguising cover. All of the environments are covered with random waist high walls which have no business being there, it's not very well implemented. Also the game is a bit easy, could have been a bit more tactical. I could go on, but I don't like badmouthing a game I really love.stephenage
I feel the need to disagree with you!
You haven't played the previous game so you can't disagree with most of the stuff I said.
Â
So from that I have to conclude where you live is covered in waist high walls randomly situated all over the place and you find mass effect 2 difficult.
1. Mass Effect 2 is better than Dragon Age: Origins. Although it's not as good of an RPG.
2. Neither of them deserve a 10, though both are very excellent games.Â

Mass Effect 2 is light years better than DA: Origins. 10 hours into DA: Origins and I was mind numbingly bored, 10 hours into ME2 I was glued to my screen and continued to play through the night. The converstaion system is far better in ME2 as well as the combat. I will say that DA: Orgins offered better exploration opportunities, but when the combat gets boring so quickly I felt no need nor had the desire to explore. Its not a bad game, but it can't touch Mass Effect 2 in terms of Story, Combat, or playability.

Mass Effect 2 is pretty easy.:P
And the waist high walls aren't even noticeable most of the time.
I have yet to play Dragon Age, so I'll stay quiet in this discussion.
Both Mario Galaxy games
Super Mario Bros 3
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time
Mario 64
Uncharted 2
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is the ONLY game I gave 10/10 yet.Bumblebee1138I did enjoy MAU, but I enjoyed the X-men Legend series more.
To be honest, I find the characters in Origins to be overrated. The story is better, especially compared to Mass Effect 2, but I didn't care for most of the characters, but Allastair and Leliana were great characters. Also, the combat was better and the worlds felt more believable and alive. It's also no contest in the graphics department on which is better. Dragon Age is a more complex and advanced RPG though, but I'd still say Mass Effect 2 is the better game.brickdoctor
The characters are far more fleshed out because your interactions with them aren't as scripted. This makes them more complex characters and better for it.
Thinking about it, just about every game with 3rd Person cover based shooting is full of waist high walls. Take Uncharted 2 for example, and Gears of War.brickdoctor
That wasn't my point, Uncharted does a great job of making everywhere look natural, the cover never feels forced but just a part of the environment. Gears does this to a certain extent also, but not quite as well.
There are areas in ME2 though, especially in the final mission, where there are just random crates dotted in an open area for no reasons. This is a small complaint, but still a valid one.

... Weird choice.

X-Men legends was great but MUA was better.

MY opinion ofcuase. ;)
I knocked MGS4 score from a 10 to a 9.5 because of the long cut scenes and the act 3 part.chocolate1325
Yeah, but you do have poor taste apparently. :P
... Still. I just can't comprehend giving that game a 10 :P.stephenage
Which video game let you play as almost all of your favorite Superheroes and fight lots and lots of infamous Supervillains and go through many different and famous locations of your favorite Superhero Universe? ;) You have no idea what I felt when I was installing this my PC. :D
And you have no f***in idea what I felt when they say MUA2 is not comming to PC.  I almost had a heartattack! :(

OH NO, LONG CUTSCENES! WHY ARE THESE CHARACTERS BEING DEVELOPED? I CAN'T SHOOT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!

I just didn't like the gameplay much, and the level design wasn't great. Also it didn't have my favourite super heroes, no Batman or any of the Watchmen :P.

Strange, that was one of my favorite acts. Acts 1, 2, and 3 were easily 10/10 material. I knocked the game down to an 9.5 because of Acts 4 and 5. Act 4 relied too much on nostalgia plus I prefered fighting and sneaking past humans over robots, and I just didn't like Act 5. I thought that the ending could've been cleaned up a bit too. And long cut scenes aren't bad as long as they're not like Killzone 3 or Final Fantasy where they're stupid or uninteresting.Â
Act 3 is truly amazing. Brickie makes good points throughout actually, the first few acts are the best. However I would disagree with his points about the ending, personal preference though. The second half of Act 5 is just astonishing for several reasons. Oh and the ending of act 4, the end battle and the bit before it and the end cutscene, is also completely incredible.

Oh. Not a fan of Marvel Superheroes eh?
Hey, I love Marvel vs Capcom. Just the particular DC heroes I mentioned are better. Also I need more from a game than a lineup, I need good gameplay and story.stephenage
Well the only DC Superhero I like is Bat Man. All the other heroes are....how do I say this?....All the other DC Heroes are pieces of sh*t!
And common! It gotta great story! And it had a good gameplay for a RPG.
Act 3's cutscene at the end is just sublime. I agree with you 100% Stephen.ÂAct 3 is truly amazing. Brickie makes good points throughout actually, the first few acts are the best. It had a nothing story and was one of the shallowest RPGs I've played. It's barely an RPG, go play Dragon Age!!!stephenage
If I could spare time and money for that, I'll let you know. :P
