i love this whole "bitter rival" thing... in the south, we have "bitter rivalries"... there is so much hate it has to be spread out... i hate tenn just as much as georgia and fsu... i also hate miami, but because we no longer play each other every year, the battle for the seminole war canoe is kind of on the back burner.Steelers_86

Yeah, we've got 4 ourselves. Ohio State, obviously. Then there's Notre Dame, we ****in hate the damn Golden Domers up here. Almost as much as the Buckin F***-eyes. Almost. Minnesota isn't much of a "rivalry" any more. I mean, in the last 20+ years, I think we may have lost twice. Then we've got the sad little Sparties. They're like the little brother of Michigan. Every now and then they're able to step up and challenge, but most of the time, they don't know how to react when they get a lead. I mean, after the last few season, the Official drink of MSU became Choke. :P

To help illustrate how much I truly hate all that is Ohio State, I've got a joke for everyone. Some may have heard it before, some not, enjoy:

Q: How do you get and Ohio State grad off your front porch?

A: You pay for the pizza.

Okay, I love the Buckeyes, but how can I not laugh? By the way, sith, I don't have absolute disdain all the time for some of my fav teams rivals, so does that mean I wasn't raised correctly? :(

Exactly. BTW, who does Penn State consider its "bitter" rival?

Come on now, I was raised perfectly fine. Here, I'll list some of the Lions' major rivals: Ohio State, Michigan, ND, Miami and USC and Pitt (although, they rarely play each other anymore), Minnesota, and Michigan State. That's all that I can think of right now.

I kinda understand Ohio State, but Michigan? Haven't you guys only beaten us once since joining the Big Ten? I didn't think you guys played ND often enough to consider them a rival. Same with USC and Miami. Pitt, I understand.

It doesn't matter that the Lions haven't won against UM since JoePa was born. Sure, most folks consider a "rivalry" to be based off of wins, but just look at the emotion between both schools when they play: pure hatred.

Same with ND. As I mentioned, the two don't play regularly much these days, but back in the past they did. And the hatred between the Lions and the Irish of those years still exists today.

Again, same situation with Miami and USC. There's simply too much history between the Lions and those old "pals" to state that a rivalry no longer exists.

Oh, and nice joke about "Choke". :D

Yeah, the win-loss thing between UM-PSU was more of a joke. Nothing serious. The Choke thing is from a t-shirt my brother got after one of the season were MSU collapsed against us.
