Star Michigan running back Mike Hart won't jump to the NFL, instead joining quarterback Chad Henne in trying to help the Wolverines win a Bowl Championship Series title.

"It just makes it that much easier for me to come back, for me to make my decision," Hart, a junior, told reporters. "Having Chad back made me want to come back. We came in [to Michigan] together and we want to leave together.

"We still have things we want to accomplish and it's a great feeling to know he's going to be back."

Hart finished fifth in this year's Heisman Trophy balloting following a season which saw him rush for 1,515 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Michigan (11-1) plays Southern California (10-2) in the Rose Bowl (ABC, 5 p.m. ET) on Jan. 1.

Dang! Sounds like next years gonna be the year of the Runningback. With people like Mike Hart, Steve Slaton, Ray Rice, Darren McFadden, and possibly Michael Bush... wow... its gonna be crazy.

yeah but he had a performance of a lifetime. Hart is gonna have to rush for 300 yards and win late to do what Young did.

Exactly, Young went when his stock was as high as it could get. There was no way he could top that Rose Bowl performance.

After hearing that Jake Long was coming back, I was pretty sure Hart wouldn't mind running behind him again.  Hart's a heisman candidate next year, no doubt.

On the Buckeye end, Kirk Barton just announced he'd be back. It'll be good to have that protection for the New QB
