I wish the new TOU wasn't so confusing with how things are handled with it. Many times I wonder what goes on with it when dealing with things that should/shouldn't be allowed and such.mitu123

I agree. My biggest wonder is really about how they decide to mod. Obviously if someone is harassing another user they have to take care of the situation but with the new set of rules in the current ToU, users can get away with a lot more.

Not to mention, the old ToU itself wasn't even that strict. It was just how some moderators enforced it. The moderators should have been bit more lenient, not the ToU itself.TAMKFanTrue, since situations like these are always very subjective and there's always that factor known as moderator discretion.

I was going to reply to Jody in Casey's thread in the Site Enhancements forum. Too bad it's purged now. I wonder why they purged it anyway.TAMKFan
I'm guessing it's because things are getting a little bit too heated there. I can see a major fight or two going on in there if it they idn't purge it.
Synthia has mentioned that people who have a problem with the new ToU should PM her about it and give their concerns. I think more of you guys who hasn't done so already to do that. If enough people complain and PM her about, just maybe they will consider making things a bit stricter.TAMKFan
That's a good idea. I'll PM my concerns and anyone else who hasn't done so already should do the same. Even if you don't get a response, your PM will be read at least (hopefully).Â
Yeah, I sent a PM explaining in detail why I think flaming and trolling need to be prohibited.
Noteldnep
Intersting, I must have missed that one, I've only gotten one PM from you with some concerns in regards to the ToU but unforutnatly I can't say that I found your reasoning to be "in detail" as to why you felt trolling and flaming needed to be prohibited. Perhaps you could consider asking mitu123, her PM was very well formed. But if you'd like to send a longer PM you are certianly welcome to as I appreciate feedback from the community. Â

The thing that needs to be frequently remembered is that while we welcome feed back, simply saying "I don't like it, when are you changing it back" doesn't help, it can actually hurt especially when one takes into accountany of the well thought out and articulated responses from GameSpot users who like the TOU as it is now.
Things that can help your argument: facts, examples of what you don't like, examples of what you want, quotes from users to support your claim. And I want to be clear, having these things will not GUARANTEE change, however it will get things moving.
Additionally, I noticed you guys are talking about bandodgers, if you PM a moderator or an admin with proof of the dodge they should be taken care of.
Well i think people don't do it because they don't feel like they are getting heard? The thing that needs to be frequently remembered is that while we welcome feed back, simply saying "I don't like it, when are you changing it back" doesn't help, it can actually hurt especially when one takes into accountany of the well thought out and articulated responses from GameSpot users who like the TOU as it is now.

Well i think people don't do it because they don't feel like they are getting heard?The_Last_RidePerhaps, but I don't see how one could expect to see change if all they do is brood about the fact they don't like how it is.
Well last time i wanted to complain about something with constructive criticism the whole thread got deletedThe_Last_RideInteresting, feel free to link me that moderation and I'll be happy to talk with the mod in question. As long as the dialogue was constructive there's absolutely no reason why it should have been moderated.
