Yeah, I seen Dracula saying that too. But just because it hasn't happened in the past, doesn't mean it won't ever happen. There's definitely a chance things could be reverted back to the old ToU here.

And yeah, I've seen several users who are against the new ToU now who originally supported it. Why did you originally support it anyway? Just curious.

[QUOTE="TAMKFan"][QUOTE="Synthia"]

Additionally, I noticed you guys are talking about bandodgers, if you PM a moderator or an admin with proof of the dodge they should be taken care of.

Synthia

How exactly do you "prove" it though?

I assume that you have visible reasons for being so certain about these users ban dodging. You guys seem so assured that these guys are dodging bans that there must be some sort of proof right?

Well, all I heard is about certain users ban dodging by various other users. I guess I have no actual proof then?

I feel this the new Terms of Use system is just one big mess, although there's a chance it will get better and make more sense in the future, and it could be just in a rough phase now, right now I don't see that happening, and feel that its best to just revert to the old system. (Or old Terms of Use.) What caused the change was the users taking a survey, and more voted for it and not against it, but right now I think at least some users who voted for it realize it wasn't a good idea, back then I was probably also for the change and not against it, but right now I (and I'm sure some other users out there) realize this change isn't for the better, and right now this site only seems to be turning users away. I also noticed that Dracula said that once changes are made the Gamespot Administration never reverts back to whatever the previous feature was before the change was made, well I think the staff should make an exception for the New Terms of Use, so far it seems best to just have the rules back to the way they were.Toph_Girl250

By "heard" I assume you mean "read" I would have to see an example of such a conversation before I could determine the strength of its evidence.

That's an interesting theory. I still don't understand why people wanted rules like those removed. The old ToU was not overly strict at all. It was just the way some moderators handled things.

It's basicly the same with the gaming character tournaments, people create a lot of new accounts just to vote for what they want to win. Instead of letting the actual base users/long time users have a say in it

People did do it, there were people clearly doing this during the votes. People complained about it trying to make it lvl 10 or something to vote. This was ignored obviously. I think the same thing could be said to the voting for the new ToU

So do you think people made alternate accounts just to vote towards the option they wanted in the new ToU votings as well?

Isn't that what he just said they were doing? But in any case, that's pretty unfortunate. Now thanks to this, we have a ToU that only hurts the community.

You know, I was just thinking, I could bet that a good number of the people who voted for the change were people who have been moderated for flaming or trolling themselves, just so they would be able to do so all they want without getting moderated. It's mind boggling that they would listen to those kind of people.

Polls are almost never a good idea since they can be rigged, and I believe those polls certainly were rigged by those who really wanted to see trolling and flaming allowed on the boards. I have no proof when I say so of course, but it's just a strong feeling I have.

It can't be good when a change makes good users leave while the trolls stay and flourish. I think it's also unfair for the administrators to ask those of us who dislike the environment on the main boards now to find unions and UCBs to post at instead. Something clearly isn't right when they have to ask us to do that...

Yeah, I know. Also, check out this rule in the header of OT that reads "Keep your discussions friendly and respectful of others". That's a big contradiction. I mean, flaming and trolling certainly is not friendly or respectful. Although, it was just recently added up there, so maybe something is changing.

[QUOTE="TAMKFan"]Yeah, I know. Also, check out this rule in the header of OT that reads "Keep your discussions friendly and respectful of others". That's a big contradiction. I mean, flaming and trolling certainly is not friendly or respectful. Although, it was just recently added up there, so maybe something is changing.silentexistence
Indicative of the surprise for OT Jody or Synthia (can't remember who) was talking about somewhere? :o

I'm pretty sure Jody said something about it in her Hot Seat thead.

The reason why I don't try to.

I try not to, but when you see so many inconsistencies it's just, ugh.
