Your Thoughts on Gamespot

This year is over in just a few days and still no new announcements about the new design. Maybe things will be announced in January.

Which part of next month remains to be seen.

Man I got Oops today, when will it stop? Oh right, it's a GS glitch on old code.

Although, I wouldn't be too surprised if it happened later than in January.

The thought of that is ugly, the 2 worst glitches ever into one.

You know they're bad when they affecting posting, pming and activity.

But at least they don't occur as much now.

Thankfully or else activity would be affected again.

Yeah, it has really hurt the activity on this site. It doesn't help that forums in general are decreasing in activity thanks to social networking and stuff.

Paid subscriptions are coming to an end. This is funny, because just the other day, I was thinking to myself "Why doesn't GS just get rid of paid subscriptions?" and now they actually are. It's going to end on January 31st and now everyone will be able to create UCBs and change their username color.

Never cared for that, though it's cool for people who care.

What surprised me is that some people commented that they didn't even know GS had paid subscriptions.

Paid subscriptions have been around even longer than that. They have been around for at least 10 years or so.

What exactly have these people been doing to not be able to hear that?Noteldnep

I don't know if you've seen it, but there's a new thread in the Site Feedback forum where a user is complaining about the current state of System Wars and it's been said that they are trying to work something out. It makes me wonder what will happen.

Looks like Gamespot doesn't care to fix System Wars.

Even if they do, I still wouldn't plan on posting there myself. But I can't blame the people who do want it fixed.

I strongly believe if people want that forum to be better then something should be done about it, and locking a thread like that is not the right way to go. Sends a wrong message as well.

Well, in any case, maybe something will be done later this year.

Like have stricter rules. That might actually happen, since in that thread, it's mentioned that the staff have been discussing the current state of that forum lately.

I wonder if the "Level 10+ can only make threads" rule will remain.

Yeah, that too. For these reasons, I really wonder why a lot of people still support that kind of rule. It doesn't make any sense.

People think different and are just different in general.

True, but I'm not into either one, and I'm not sure when I'll change the color of my name.

I think I'm sticking with the username color I changed to years ago when I was subscribed.

I honestly think the orange letters fits you perfectly.

Here's a odd glitch I forgot to mention: I tried to post in this one thread in a union and it was locked, even though it shows that it isn't locked at all earlier as I was able to view it, and yet when I posted in it, it said the thread was locked, so I went out and waited a minute later to refresh and all of a sudden it's unlocked again. Man that glitch is very rare as I've seen it in the past. I was the only one around so I have no idea how that glitch happened.

Ha, there's a glitch where you have to sometimes click Members Only in the settings multiple times to change the color of your username. I find that one funny since you have to be a member to use it, so why the glitch exist is beyond me.

Actually, that happens to me too. Sometimes the option to change my username color is displayed and other times it isn't.

Um this glitch shouldn't happen, it's like they forgot to properly code it so that glitch won't happen.
