Wanted to get my hands on GoW collection but then i'm not sure, i mostly always hear about the vast amount of QTE the game has.

Hesitation...hesitation.

If you don't play God of War, you're doing it wrong. The first one is one of the greatest games ever created.

From what i saw it seemed more like "been there, done that" outside of apparently awesome boss finish. So i'll keep "doing it wrong" for a while i think.

Videos won't do it justice, my friend. It's so thrilling and exciting and flat out fun to play. It's got grand set pieces, some inventive combat design, and semi intruiging stories. You really should check the games out.

If you don't want to play the console games, at least give Chains of Olympus a try (even though you should have at least played God of War I before you play CoO).

Didn't they release the PSP games on PS3 too? Outside of the GoW collection i saw another retail game with 2 GoW in it.

Yes, they're called the Origins Collection; every single God of War game is now on the PS3, although I will say that I would recommend against playing them on the PS3.

God of War and God of War 2 should be played on the PS2, and Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta should be played on the PSP. God of War III should be played on the PS3.

If you can't play them on their native systems, of course, I suppose the PS3 versions are fine...

Why? Are there issues with the PS3 collections?

Nah, I'm just a purist, and I prefer playing them on their native systems :P

In the words of a friend of mine 'play them as God intended them to be played!'

The PSP versions play much better on a handheld. When you play them on a console, they just seem bland, but when you play them on a PSP, all the while, you'll be thinking "whoa, that's a handheld game?"

That's a damn shame.I loathe bad optimization.

That's why I appreciate Capcom for that DMC4 port. Now that was optimized.

I got 120FPS on it with my old rig with an AMD Athlon II X4 645 and Radeon 4850/GTX 460, I'll probably get over 200 with my new one.

I'm a little burned out on Shenmue for now and have other titles I haven't completed/started.

I have been playing PSII here and there. Now I'm at the dams.

I bought Dark Souls yesterday (I found the CE).

I have no previous experience with Demon Souls or anything really similar to Dark Souls. The game is hard but incredibly rewarding so far. I can't wait to get more into it. I also have to finish up Assassin's Creed: Revelations but I feel like I have to force myself to, which is kinda sad. I love the AC series a lot but this one is slightly off. I also have to finish up Shadows of the Damned on the 360. I'm playing through SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked on the 3DS as well. I was going to get Tales of the Abyss in Feb, but since I bought Dark Souls I won't be picking up anything until SSX.

I was a SNES owner and a Mario-All Stars pro back in the day.. but Sonic 2 and 3 and Spinball are on sale on Steam for 2.49 each.

Time to see what all the fuss is about this Sonic fellow.

It does.Interesting weapons and dat customization.New zombie types, which are pretty much L4D knockoffs but they work and the cool environments.I'm so glad when I return to Resort.I really feel at home over there.Everything else is hostile as hell.

I couldn't sleep last night, in fact I still haven't slept. So I decided it was a perfect time to try Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

Pitch black outside, 6:00 AM and sleep deprived.

The game is by far the scariest thing I've ever played. :| If you allow yourself to be immersed in the character.. wow. Just wow. Resident Evil wishes it could be this horrifying. RE was tense, but this game is on another level.

I was going to buy Dead Island, but I heard it got really repetitive, and was really only melee focused.

I know I probably should of tried the game before dismissing it but, it seemed more like "100 Zombies? Challenge Accepted. Hack n Slash FTW" rather than "Hmm 20 zombies better get the **** outta here or else."

Just didn't seem to be much thought involved, or strategy. Just hack n slash your way to win.

I think I've only played through RE2.. 3 or 4 times? I still haven't gotten around to clear Leon B. I've cleared Claire B and A, and Leon A a couple times, but I always get bored when it comes time for Leon B.

Gotta get on that someday.

Yeah, the game revolves about melee. But it's easy to say "it's just meleeing zombies throughout the whole game",but it's much more. The fact that every slice and bash feels so good. The melee system is just great and I'm not even talking about customizing your weapons. You can make some fvcked up sh!t.I finished it in 24 hours and I found every moment exhilarating.

It's a hate it or love it game. Some people will really like it while others will really hate.I'm glad I could appreciate the visceral melee system and customization along with the quite varied quests and eerie environments.

There are gun battles though. Not a lot but they're a nice change of pace.

And this game has the best zombies I've ever seen in a videogame. From animation to sound effects.Anyone that knows his zombie movies will appreciate the zombies in Dead Island.

Going to the VG store on Friday~ :D It's always so exciting. I'll be picking up either Radiant Historia or Monster Hunter Tri. I might pick up RE:R if the hype gets to me, but lol @ $49.99+13% tax for a handheld game.
Also, saving up for an iPad 3 32GB with WiFi+3G, with data plan. Ehyu... expensive technology year for me :x

never finished RE4, i blame the awful PC version.

one of these days i'll install it and mod the sh!t out of it. especially those goddamn controls.

BrunoBRS

My brother bought it for the pc and had the same problem but mods have fixed the game,I heard.
I do prefer the Wii version though.Playing the game with the Wiiremote is lovely although that huge crosshair sucks.

^ yeah but i paid $10 on the PC version, might as well play it :P

Going to the VG store on Friday~ :D It's always so exciting. I'll be picking up either Radiant Historia or Monster Hunter Tri. I might pick up RE:R if the hype gets to me, but lol @ $49.99+13% tax for a handheld game.
Also, saving up for an iPad 3 32GB with WiFi+3G, with data plan. Ehyu... expensive technology year for me :x
Eponique
i don't know how tri's online is right now, but i sunk a hundred hours into it without seeing all the enemies. that game is soooooo goooooood. i recommend it. like, a lot.

I've seen mods posted for RE4, and I thought they looked worse because people replaced the textures with their own and they didn't mesh properly, fit the art design, etc.

Some never fit properly because of low geometry which high-res textures simply can't fix, or their textures are simply that disgusting looking. My biggest issue with it are crappy environment textures (or low geometry,) and water. Bodies of water simply look gross.

Of course, there's always RE4 Wii and Dolphin, but I'd rather wait for Capcom to remake it so they can further milk it.

Still playing Skyrim... I'll get that Platinum if it kills me. Still need to finish SotC HD, and then need to play Skyward Sword and Arkham Asylum. Also, halfway through Duke Nukem Forever (it's really not so horrid) and Sonic Generations.

I do love the detailed world of Mafia 2.

Even the damn gas prices go up the more you progress. It's the little things that make it great.

Ya, its too bad the city potential is wasted with a lack of side content once the story is done.
