i thought junkie was an american term, but an addict probably the easiest word to use instead.

i dont remember that, was that from the film ???mjk1

Yeah, right before the bomb exploded on Ra's ship.  There's this bright glow and Ra appears to shapeshift into what looked more like an Asgard than a Goa'uld.

Also, when Daniel is being told or telling the crew about Ra, there is sort of  flashback where he looks non-human. Alot like the glowy thing. It may be at the begging to when he takes the human as a host. I haven't seen it in a while, but if it wasn't for the movie I don't think I would have started watching SG-1 as early as I did.

Back on topic though. It's not so much that the Goa'uld were around for 8 seasons, it's that when the final battles were undertaken they were defeated too quickly and easily.

i think anubis's battle was just right and acutally the goa'uld wernt defeated they surrendered beacuse the free jaffa has taken over dakara people stopped believing they were gods so they probably went ito hiding. we dont really know what happen to the system lords they still might be around but they dont have any power

some of them are still around but the fleets were taken by the jaffa, and that alliance but i think most of them were destroyed by the ori.
