Okay. So I've put more thought into the battle thing I had planned months ago. So far I'm only decided on a number of things, and I'll outline others at the end of this post. Input from all of you will help this move along. This time it will go like this:

Classes
Leader (no units)
Scientist/Reseacher (2 units)
Light Fighter (3 units)
Heavy Fighter (4 units)
I haven't thought of another class, I'm thinking of something like a "stealth" class, I forgot what the goa'uld assassins are called, maybe that? Or perhaps there will be a "special class" and have abilities like "hide team", or "boost attack" something like that. If you have any ideas for more classes please add to this topic.

Team Structure
Each team has a maximum of 10 "class" points, or units.You choose 1 team leader (a class).
A leader takes up no "class units". You can then fill up those 10 units (this number may change) anyway you like. Example, 2 heavy fighters (4+4 units) and a scientist (2 units). 2 light fighters (3+3) and a heavy fighter (4 units). What ever you like.

Class Specs.
Leader
Health: 100
Attack: 3
Special Ability: Co ordination. You can use this ability for one turn, and the next turn use 2 attacks (1 from 2 people)

Scientist/Researcher
Health: 50
Attack: 1
Special ability: Upgrade weaponry for one attack. (maybe +1 or +2 attack, whatever)

Light Fighter
Health: 80
Attack: 4
Special Ability: Agility. 0.5 resistance against attacks.

Heavy Fighter
Health: 150
Attack: 5
Special Ability: Use of heavy weapon. (+2 damage on the next attack)

Now, someone, I'm not good with character names, will have to provide a list of characters, and each class they go under. Also, feel free to make any suggestions on anything I've posted already (mine is horrible, I know). Also, I was thinking of adding a weapons slot too. But that might take a little more work. The weapons would add a (+X) amount of damage. Well that's just the start. So.. any ideas from any of you will get this moving faster. It will basically be like "hurt and heal" but we have a little more input and tactics to it. ALSO! I was thinking either we choose our own team, or we team up with another board user to have "teams"... so like I said, any suggestions, I'd be ahppy to hear them.

Wow, this looks quite intriguing, and I'd like to help. My mouse is down right now but I think I'll be able to help fairly well. Oh, one thing though, can I be a character?

Rofl. Well.. I suppose we could all make oursleves characters, and give us a class (which we'd have to stick by).. no "Sarge has 99999 health and special ability of god mode and all knowing" >_> So, if you want to.. I suppose yes, though we might have to get the approval of everyone else. It's their game too.

Also, just a note, this, as you can see, involves a lot more tactics than the hurt and heal game, so it's not the same thing. You'll be deciding who to attack (possibly how), and the team combinations and everything. So when it gets up it might be a good game. Hopefully it will. Also. Do you want a weapons lot?

We can ahve P90, MP5, Zats, Staff Weapons, M60, SPAZ 12, Uhm.. whatelse is there? You get the picture. But we might have to make up stats for those weapons too. Which might take time. so it could be ages until we get set up, unless anyone wants to jump straight in and do something towards it.

If you want weapons, then I guess just post them (sand the stats) in when your done, character list and classes (and any aditional classes) are basically what we need so far. We could also have a competition where it's one on one (2 vs 2, 3 vs 3 etc), you win, you move to the next round, until it's just two people left..

Hmm. Well what do you mean by classes? like tokra, gould etc? or like engineers, scientists and etc? it sounds interesting though, and I'd like to help out.

For classes, not races. Like, your team could have a Goa'uld, Tokra, Re'tu, Human, whatever you want (but they'd be different classes). What I mean by classes is what I've started with so far. We have the Leader, A scientist/engineer type person, light fighter and heavy fighter. If you wanted to add other classes, say, Special Ops, "Hero" (but that's kind of what the leader is)..I don't know. Just other classes, like you find in regular RPG's. Now, we could have light fighters from different races, such as  Kawalsky and that Jaffa guy.. I forgot the name of. =/ It doesn;t help when I don't know what I'm talking about.

But basically it would be like this, for the character class list (so we know what characters to choose from).
List character/class type. Example:
Jack O'Niell/Leader
Mitchell/Leader
Bra'tac/Leader (or heavy fighter, ahven't decide what he should be)
Teal'c/Heavy Fighter
Narim/Scientist
Carter/Scientist

Further more we could have weapons.
P90/Light Weapon/+2 damage (on top of the character stat)
M60/Heavy Weapon/+3 damage
Zat/light weapon/stuns victim for next turn
Staff/heavy weapon/+4 damage

Where only a heavy fighter could use a heavy weapon blah blah and so on. And basically it would be played like the hurt and heal game. Except we'd have turns, where you can either "modify" an attack (special abilities) or just attack, instead of hurt heal where you attack (and heal) without any tactics. Phew. That makes little sense to me. I hope SOMEONE gets this.

Example, I'd say something like. I'm attack Sarge. :P

I use my Jack O'Niell special ability (co ordination). And that's my turn gone. Sarge makes his move.
I then say I want Teal'c (heavy fighter) and  Kawalsky (light fighter) to attack Sarge's blah blah guy.

And we take it in turns. Or make a time limit, number of turns per day or something. One we get the teams/weapons/characters down it might be a little easier.

That will be explained below.

Each player will get 12 'team units' for their team. Each attack done by a class uses 'attack units'. During each turn a player will be able to use up to 8 attack units (subject to change). Classes will have those set attributes (subject to change) and the weapons will add to their attack power. Players are able to use their attack units and 4 additional moves (subject to change). These additional moves include defensive attacks or special abilities (each counting as 1). Each class has a type of weapon they can use, light, medium, heavy, special, once these are chosen they can't be changed until 5 turns are up (subject to change). When I say "attacker" I mean when you are attacking. For example, "weapon upgrade" gives YOU (as you attack) double damage.

That's basically all I've got on this. Once someone gives me a list of characters I'll sort them into their groups, and also we might have to double up on characters (subject to change), unless you want to put someone who is not what they are in the show such as a SGC technician being a light fighter or whatever. But for now, we choose our teams, if characters overlap, then too bad.

The heros at this point will be Fleet Commanders, such as Thor (and any other Asgard), any of the System Lords, Replicator Overminds, and Generals (Landry, Hammond), I don't know any other special humans (well I can't remember). Leaders will be anyone of lower importance. So far I can only think of O'Niell, Micthell, Bra'tac… so think of some more. Light and heavy fighters will be obvious like Teal'c (heavy). Diplomats will be people like Daniel or any other humanitarians, such as Canadians (joking), or whoever else (can't think of any) Technicians will be scientists/engineer type people such as Sam, McKay, and so on.

Special Ability 1: Turret construction (next attacker of the team is able to use a turret giving them +2 attack)
Special Ability 2: Weapons upgrade (next attacker does double damage with weapons)*Note* Special ability 2, only if we use weapons.
Weapons: Light, Medium, Special

Diplomat
Team Units: 1
Health: 70
Offensive Attack: None
Attack Units: None
Defence Attack:  Reasoning (causes the next foe to listen to reasoning causing a 100% miss)
Special Ability: Diplomacy (entire team is safe from a selected foe for 3 turns)
Weapons: Light

I've hardly put any thought into it. Thats why I need some more input from you guys on HOW it should be played. Having 10 people fighting at once may get complicated, as well as keeping up stats and everything. Anyone have any idea how to make this less complicated?

Sure, why not have it so that we can only post once a day, with an attack part and counter attack part of the post that will allow for any units attacking the poster (like say thy attack after the guy posted) to be counterattacked upon. This would allow for an even conflict and more strategising because if two guys decided to team up against another, the one guy could be overpowered. If it was done right of course. Anyhow, does this make sense to anyone?

I think. So for example (I'll use you again Sarge), if I attack you, my attack won't take effect until you post and counter attack it? That would probably work well.

Is anyone getting a character list or will I do it?

Edit: I've got these. obviously we need some more for different classes, so if you want to add anyone from new seasons (who I don't know about) or anyone you particularly want there, then just edit this post I guess.

I think Jonas should be a diplomat instead of a light fighter because he basically took over Daniel's negotiating role while he was ascended.

that just gave me an idea; with daniel you can give him an special assended attack. Something like it can distroy any unit, but it will also kill him as the "other assended are taking revenge" or something.

^ not a bad idea. But I disagree with jonas being a diplomat. He was more combative and certainly less diplomatic than than daniel was imo.

If we give Daniel such a special move, why not everyone else? It would get too complicated, even if it's one character, but then everyone will want Daniel, or something like that. Unless I read it wrong.

Like I said, it doesn't matter what characters, I only provided that list so you understand better what characters go under what class. Jonas was more of a Scientist anyway, not diplomat, so he'd go under technician. So yeah. I guess you can all start making your teams now, unless anyone has input on the gameplay features or anything. I don't care too much what characters I have so you guys can choose away and use any characters that are there or I haven't mentioned.

The heroes don't have weapons because their attacks on their own are quite strong, not to mention they have the retreat thingy attack, that stops the entire team from being hurt at all. More of an entire team tactical attack... person. Did that make any sense? o.O

There are plenty of other characters to choose from.  You can use characters from SG-1 and Atlantis that aren't on the list.
