It's happens all the time where it's a band, a rap group/crew or a duo, some one always breaks up.

What are some that come to mind that you wished never happened or were glad it did?

Speaking of a break-up, it's the worst kind, it's by e-mail!

Breaking Benjamin vocalist-guitarist Benjamin Burnley has fired the rest of his band.

According to a story in Citizen's Voice of Wilkes-Barre [the band's hometown], Burnley axed guitarist Aaron Fincke and bassist Mark Klepaski via email after learning his bandmates had struck an agreement with Hollywood Records to issue a remix of their song 'Blow Me Away.'
Burnley is seeking at least $250,000 and the exclusive right to the Breaking Benjamin name. Fincke and Klepaski both deny Burney's claims and a Luzerne County judge has ordered arbitration. So far no one from the band's camp has issued an official statement on the recent events.

Breaking Benjamin formed in 1998 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. and signed with Hollywood Records in early 2002. They have gone on to release four studio albums that have sold well over 5 million copies in the US alone.

On August 16th the band will be issuing a hits collection titled 'Shallow Bay: The Best of Breaking Benjamin.' The two-disc release will feature the band's chart-topping hits including 'Breath, 'So Cold,' 'Sooner or Later,' 'The Diary of Jane" and 'I Will Not Bow,' as well as an entire disc of rare recordings including never-before-released songs, live performances, rare acoustic recordings and remixes. The remixed version of 'Blow Me Away,' the lead track from the two-disc set that caused the rift, features guest vocals from Syd Duran of the band Valora.Noisecreep

Well I think the old band The Libertines here is a bit good and bad to me. Bad in the sense that it feel apart because co-frontman Pete Doherty wouldn't give up the drugs and even burgled the house of fellow frontman Carl Barat's house to pay for some. Good in the sense I can't get into their music, but I do quite enjoy the bands Dirty Pretty Things and Babyshambles that emerged from the split, as well as Pete's and Carl's solo works.

Guns N' Roses break-up really hit the band hard, but it was Axl Rose (the band's lead singer) had it coming. Axl has always been a stuck-up jerk who would go on long rants during shows and has no respect for anybody, so the rest of the entire band (two guitarists, a bassist, and a drummer) left Guns N' Roses to form a new band (Velvet Revolver). And yet Axl and his new bandmates still go with the name "Guns N' Roses" rather than "The Axl Rose Project".

Yeah. I was so close to tears when I confirmed it. I've been waiting for the next album since October.

These are all rap artist:

When Rakim and DJ Eric B. broke-up, Rakim was never the same.

When Pete Rock & CL Smooth broke-up, Pete went on to great success and CL Smooth has gone no where.

I remember when Brand Nubian broke up.  Each artist has made a solo album, but it never reached the success of them as a group.

It's not really an official break-up, but it was pretty sad when Kurt Cobain commited suicide, causing Nirvana to fall apart just when they were becoming really popular.

I never really liked them but when Grohl formed Foo Fighters, I was very glad to see him not go Grungy.

Evanescence went through a few band changes, I know that the band its self hasn't "broke up"....its just different members with Amy Lee being the only origional left.

Haha then the previous members went on to form the band "We Are The Fallen" with a lead singer from that American singing contest show...I dunno which one theres a few,....and the band is just a complete copy of Evanescence!

Don't get me wrong, I like We Are The Fallen, but please my friends, you will never be that good. You don't have Amy Lee you see :P

R.E.M. are done.

To our Fans and Friends: As R.E.M., and as lifelong friends and co-conspirators, we have decided to call it a day as a band. We walk away with a great sense of gratitude, of finality, and of astonishment at all we have accomplished. To anyone who ever felt touched by our music, our deepest thanks for listening." R.E.M.

In their own words: The guys share their thoughts on why now.

MIKE

"During our last tour, and while making Collapse Into Now and putting together this greatest hits retrospective, we started asking ourselves, 'what next'? Working through our music and memories from over three decades was a hell of a journey. We realized that these songs seemed to draw a natural line under the last 31 years of our working together.

"We have always been a band in the truest sense of the word. Brothers who truly love, and respect, each other. We feel kind of like pioneers in this--there's no disharmony here, no falling-outs, no lawyers squaring-off. We've made this decision together, amicably and with each other's best interests at heart. The time just feels right."

MICHAEL

"A wise man once said--'the skill in attending a party is knowing when it's time to leave.' We built something extraordinary together. We did this thing. And now we're going to walk away from it.

"I hope our fans realize this wasn't an easy decision; but all things must end, and we wanted to do it right, to do it our way.

"We have to thank all the people who helped us be R.E.M. for these 31 years; our deepest gratitude to those who allowed us to do this. It's been amazing."

PETER

"One of the things that was always so great about being in R.E.M. was the fact that the records and the songs we wrote meant as much to our fans as they did to us. It was, and still is, important to us to do right by you. Being a part of your lives has been an unbelievable gift. Thank you.

"Mike, Michael, Bill, Bertis, and I walk away as great friends. I know I will be seeing them in the future, just as I know I will be seeing everyone who has followed us and supported us through the years. Even if it's only in the vinyl aisle of your local record store, or standing at the back of the club: watching a group of 19 year olds trying to change the world." All REM Members

Wow, that is pretty surprising. They're a great band though, and they at least spent a few decades making music before deciding to retire, so at least they weren't like The Beatles or Nirvana, breaking up at the peak of their career.

Not sure, they were actually getting popular when they broke up.
