Going to concerts/shows alone

If a band that you loved were coming to an area near you, but you would have to go alone, would you? Would it change the experience for you?

I was planning on going to a La Dispute show in February by myself, but I ran into a guy I knew there, and as a result had a bettertime than I thought I would. So, what are your opinions on it?

I've done it before and don't really understand why people see it as a big deal. If a band I really like is coming to town but I don't know anyone else who likes them I would much rather go by myself than drag someone with who might not like it. It's better to just enjoy myself rather than worrying about if the person who came along is having a good time or not.

Plus, when you go to a concert you're surrounded by people who you know have at least one interest in common. It's really easy to meet new people if you go alone.
