GoW II Boxarts

I find it disturbing that GameTrailers has taken the most recent 'boxart' and used it themselves..though I still believe a supior, true boxart is hidden from us.

~If it turns out to somehow be official..I'll meerly get a highquality version of the other pic and put it in the box covering the other...no joke *then all would be well*

I say number 2.  Well, we can now, sort of get a good enough look at the statues.  I`m thinking that at least the right statue is a giant/cyclops.  The image for the left statue is slightly different between the two box arts, on 1 it looks like it has a beard and hair(making me think Zees), but on the 2 it looks a little different, more like there is a collar, or corrosion. ~The first thing I noticed was that phoenix symbol on the temple..it resembles the one used on the shields of the human soldiers that tried to get in Kratos way (in a very old picture of GoWII)..

~I see GoWII's flow of info is following the same pattern as GoW1's...meaning we should expect little if anything from here on in (other than the demo's release and then the game itself...)

well given the pattern of pattern following i can say were prolly gonna see more of similarities with of GOW2 with GOW1etrnalconundrum

Interesting observation about that phoenix symbol GMG, in my mind, since even if neither of these box arts is the real one, for both of them to have that phoenix symbol and similar temple design would mean it is more than just concept art, and would actually have some meaning, which would imply that those soldiers that we saw are likely soldiers stationed in that temple and we will fight them(already known since that pic shows us fight them right?), and also, that there is a good possibility of a phoenix boss/regular enemy, leaning more toward boss.  Otherwise why would it have a symbol on a temple if it was just a regular enemy? When I see this pic I think...Who is in the background firing those flame arrows?  What is going on here..where exactly are we?..Is this that Island with the Tower in the middle located near the 3 Fate Temples tethered to the 4 Mares of the Fates?  Perhaps it is another island we do not yet know of *doubtful*..personally I believe it to be the island I just made mention of.  This reminds me...I need to study the features of the main gods and the 'awesome' contender. (to try and analyze who/what those 'things' in the artwork are) 

There are a few things to support the appearance of a Phoenix in GoWII..the symbol, it being a boss class/large enemy and the Phoenix Feather *though it is possible it was replaced*...If we Collect Cyclop's Eyes from the source..I'm just applying what they are saying..where would we have to get Phoenix Feathers from..

It is still quite possible that the symbol represents something/someone else and has little to do with the Phoenix *which would irritate me a bit since there were 2 statues of Chimeras in God of War 1 but they did not appear in the game nor will they in the sequel according to Cory..I was also surprised he answered that question as I don't recall anyone asking it...*

~It seems that the 2 recent contenders are the only ones...quite a few sites have picked up sides for one or the other..though a few have not yet accepted one or the other..I guess they are waiting for official word first..or they just don't know about either

There are some minor differences between the statues seen in the two contending artworks...I can't make out who/what they are...but I can say that the 'launch pad' (the only way I know to describe the piece of architecture) in the front of the temple has only been seen on the 3 Fate Temples thus far and would make the most sense of any locale to be used for the cover..

I see no signs to really support the locale being on a Fate Temple other than the similarities in architecture..some elements of the surrounding could be called water or even clouds..certainly the sky has a massive storm with the focus being the center of this temple...Another place with similar architecture is Olympus..which would make sense due to the fact that or business with the Fates is meant to send us back to the moment we were betrayed to "right" things..that IS what Cory said is it not?..Perhaps this is another locale in Olympus..then again..it is possible that this place hasn't yet been covered at all..

---It isn't golden like the Temple of the God of War was in the first..but then again..neither is the BoA..so many questions left unanswered...

At least Cory was kind enough to tell us about the meeting with IGN..now we know to be on the look out there for new info..whether it is 'old news', new things of little importance or some BIG news is my primary concern at the moment..I'd love to let my hopes rise but IGN hasn't exactly had the best track record with GoW coverage..perhaps they are looking to remedy this truth..I certainly hope so at least

man just looking at that pic made me go.......hellz yeah i can't wait! onl one thing bugging me: we never saw them again in any vid or pic, could it be possible that they would be a deleted level or so? god i hope not!!!evanescfan

That is true..a pic that never shows up again is rather easy to doubt...We've seen only a pic of the thunder spell too..but we don't doubt that because our senses tell us that something like that won't be excluded...You are right to worry about the picture..

~I can't back it up with strong proof (seeing as we don't know how old those artworks for the cover REALLY are) but there is reason to hope it is still in the game

Blast it evan!  You have jinxed us now!(j/k)  But that is something to worry about, since a desert level on Kronos the titan was shown as a demo before GOW came out, but in the end it was deleted.  So, even a demo`ed level can possibly be cut, although it would be highly unlikely.  And, were only one of these box arts to have that terrain, I`d be more nervous about it not actually being in the game, but since two of them(both being highly possible box arts) have almost the exact same kind of art in the backround, it would seem like something solidly put into the game.  Although GMG has a point since we have no idea how old these are, and in the end anything can happen.  Just cross your fingers everybody.Alucard_rules
