It would be a broad sword like in final fantsy except with a lot more skulls and such you know, for a god war!

I accept your challenge; I give you the deadliest weapon ever forged in the sea, my own trident. (Poseidon was also known nicknamed Earth Shaker as when he struck his trident against the ground, earthquakes happen).

Use this weapon Kratos; use the apocalyptical rage of the seas to strike the immense wrath of my own against your enemies so that you can achieve your goals. Go forth and seek the truth of your past!!!”

(An animation take centre stage which shows Kratos shooting a tidal wave, a typhoon (water hurricane), thunder & lightning (return of Poseidon’s Rage) and a massive earthquake occurs, one after another).

 Level 1: L2 + Square = Kratos summons a medium-sized tidal wave

              Pressing O will do a spinning attack, fast and medium damage

              Pressing Square will throw his trident through an enemy

Pressing / will let Kratos slam his trident on the floor causing a massive earthquake

 Level 2: L2+ / = Typhoon sucks in enemies near blast-radius and they get trapped, spinning around whilst damage get done to them.

 Level 3: L2+ O = Poseidon’s Rage, yes, it returns

Level 4: All attacks are much, more powerful with added effects: 

Poseidon’s Rage now comes with Poseidon’s Wrath ( Repeated circle attack)

Bigger Typhoon with new attack by holding down / to launch 3 typhoons in triangle formation.

All melee attacks including “Earthquake” are stronger and “Earthquake” is 360 degree but now takes mana when you hold down /.

Tidal Wave comes with knock-back and is much larger and there are now 3 Tidal Waves

Level 5: L1 + X =  “Apocalypse of Poseidon” is the ultimate attack as it uses up half the magic bar and like Army of Hades from GOW1, should only be used when the time is right:

Targeting a massive group of enemies in a 360 degree radius, a massive “Earthquake with a massive “Poseidon’s Wrath” 360 degrees targets the unlucky enemies and summons 3 massive typhoons in triangle formation and to finish off, with 1 massive Tsunami which knocks-back enemies as far as possible and even off edges.

I too believed that Poseidon's Trident should be made into a weapon..Hades' Bident too.  I never finished flushing out my idea *here* but I'll get back to it eventually.

Let's start with the obvious assumption made here..that is that you've shown your weapon to have 5 levels.  I say this because Artemis, the sole alternate weapon of the first game, had only 3 levels *like Spells* and did not evolve in any respect other than it changing colors and got stronger.  You, like me, seem to want secondary weapons to be treated more like the Blades have been.  We have nothing to go by that indicated whether weapons will have 3 or 5 levels, actually get new moves as they level or anything of that sort because they simply haven't been talked about all that much in depth. 

To be honest you took a lot of liberties with this idea but creativity sometimes demands such things..and I'll just say that Hephaestus didn't make the Trident and we dont' know who is on our side for sure really..again I will go along with it *I do believe Athena will side with us*

Hephaestus came after the Olympians had beaten the Titans *with much aid of course*... It makes little sense to think he made Zeus' thunderbolts, Hades' crown/helm of invisibility and/or Poseidon's Trident...Though it is ENTIRELY possible that the God of War team could decide to change the history of the events..but then they would either have to pretend the Titan War never happened or elaborate on their version of the events...in any case I can see how the misconception occured..Hephaestus is famous for his works..but these aren't among them.

The problem with this spell/weapon is that it is a combination of the two..it is more weapon than spell however.  5 levels for a spell is workable but the amount of things you want for it is out of the question I feel.  As a weapon it could be pulled off with some changes. 

If you insist that this be treated as a spell I will do a review of its abilities in the other thread.. If you want to make a weapon out of this then be all means..feel free to modify accordingly.  Having both doesn't neatly fit into either category and would recquire you to do much more thinking of how to "work this out".  *Ex: Pressing L2 when the Trident icon is present will "summon" the weapon/spell, effectively working like Artemis did in that it is another mode seperate from that of the Blades or normal spells*

left = wind, right = ice, thunder = up and there one more? down. Down isn't barbarian hammer due to the fact from the demo, its like the artemis blade. artemis blade was on L1 + R1, so  barbarian hammer is on L1 + R1.

So far /\ = thunder from screenshot at gamespot, ) = ice due to the fact that during demo he used ice spell and the only 2 spells availble are the wind and ice and  ( = wind bow.

But what about \/ = another unknown element and L1 + R1 = hammer but what about L2 + R2.

BoA = L1 + R1 to change to hammer, L2 + R2 to change to another weapon.

BHammer = L1 + R1 to change to BoA and L2 + R2 to change to unknown alt weapon.

Unknown weapon = L1 + R1 to change to BoA and L2+R2 to change to Bhammer

Though the Wind spell is fired from a "bow", this does not make it a weapon too..It is handled purely as a spell.  It has no melee potential at all nor does it have true weapon properties.

I mentioned a Weapon HUD a while back..do you remember it? *it showed the BK hammer*  On Barlog's blog *long ago* he mentioned how he wanted R2 to be used for weapon switching.  The Windbow's Icon is in the spell hud because it only fills the roll of a spell.     

We don't know the directional assignment of any spells for certain.  We don't even  know exactly how the Icarus Wings are going to be handled *likely it will be a "relic"*  There is nothing to prove the assignment of the spells yet.  If anything, the pictures/vids we have watched indicate that the Windbow would be the right directional slot...nothing is final in what we have seen.

There have been a number of "demos".  The only one made available to the public *to play not keep* was the E3 demo which DID NOT have the Ice Spell, Icarus Wings or the Barbarian King's hammer.  1UP got to use the hammer and IGN somehow got a old, WIP Icarus Wings *which is still a mystery to many*.  In trailers we see the ice spell used at the same locales the demo visits..we even see Fate Servants *which were not in the demo*.  We certainly didn't have a playable demo of the Pegasus battle.

For a weapon, L1 is used in conjunction with face buttons to use special attacks.  For a spell, L2 is used.  There is no option to have both.  This thread isn't for a combination of the two to be theorized/developed.  Windbow is NOT a "weapon" but a spell.  L1+R1 was used in the first game for Artemis.  This isn't going to apply in the sequel.  R1 has been made the "action" button and R2's function apparently has been made weapon switching *from Barlog's asnwer to the question of combo making*.  It just would be a good idea to do things the way you describe *though I too thought it would work that way at one point early on*  I'd imagine that R2 would be used with directional buttons to switch between weapons much like L2 for spells.  There is much we don't know for sure in this field so theorizing on it isn't exactly suggestible.

From the set-up of the last game, spells and secondary weapons got only 3 levels.  I don't need to repeat my previous post covering this.  You are suggesting a hybrid class weapon that isn't covered by this thread *weapons* nor the other *spells*.

~The BK hammer isn't specifically fire based..sure it has a fire attack..it also has a lighting attack *from GameHead footage*  The spells were confirmed to be elemental in nature..this is true...but nothing like that has been confirmed for weapons.  As for freedom to create your own weapon..this you have.  However, your suggestion needs to conform to either a spell or weapon
