Does anyone have a backwards compatible PS3? I have one and have had some trouble with Spyro games freezing at different points. Has anyone had any trouble like this? The main one I have had trouble with is The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning.

Greetings newcomer! I don't have a PS3, but I think that there was a firmwire update that could solve this. When does the game freeze anyway?

Unfortunately, I don't have a PS3 right now, and I am not sure if anyone else here does right now... But, I can tell you what I know from my research.

As I posted in your blog, this link can be used to see if any game that isn't working is compatible with the PS3 you have. From what that site shows, TLoS: A New Beginning is suppose to have no major problems playing on both PS3 systems. I'll list some questions to help pinpoint the problem and possible solutions:

- Is the disc in good condition? Does is have any major scratches or is it dirty?
- Have you updated to the latest firmware? If not, then do so, because the updates sometimes fix games not working.
- Maybe you could try laying the system down flat if you have it standing on its side. I know it sounds farfetched, but this has fixed some games not working for me on my PS2. It might work on the PS3 too.

That's all I can think of right now. Sorry if this doesn't help. I wish I had a PS3 to try finding some solutions to this problem myself...

I would have no clue about this. All I would say is do what Drago said.

I had it freeze a few times when I started the Tall Plains and a few times a bit further into the Tall Plains. Also if I try to level up any of Spyro's breaths during this level it freezes. Problem is it isn't always a consistent freeze somewhere except for the breaths.

Seems like Eddy (Drago) knows the nest about this. I'd say stick with what he's suggesting about the problem. If that doesn't work, you can always visit the PS3 FAQ board. 8)
