Satoru Iwata has revealed to investors that the battery life for the Nintendo 3DS will be significantly shorter than its previous system, the Nintendo DS.

"As for the battery, it is inevitable that Nintendo 3DS will be a device which requires more frequent recharging than Nintendo DS."

"This is why we are going to include the cradle, which is a dedicated battery charger.

"Perhaps we may need to dispatch to our consumers a message, something like, 'Please place your Nintendo 3DS on the cradle as soon as you return home with it'."

:( That kinda sucks. What do you guys think of this?

Ouch that's pretty brutal. I have really high expectations for this thing. I guess will have to wait and see whether or not it can live up to all of the hype. Probably no matter what I'll buy it because of the 3D but that definitely stings a bit....

I'm not too worried, as I rarely leave home with my handhelds anyways.

I DS and GBA SP have both sat in my room on their charger for most of their life, my 3DS will do the same. Only time I will take it off will be for a trip of some kind.
