Teamwork? That's a very bland version of TEAMWORK, in my humble opinion...
Â
You see, that Juggernaut combination with two other cars is practically a death wish on Last Man Standing based game modes. It's also a very bad decision to execute on Net Kills. I can't be certain about the other game types, but it is possibly a useless aspect if the "respawn" rate is high(er). Â In fact, the whole entire thing is the biggest risk in the game; lose three cars at once because your primary car is awful at mobility. Given that, no matter the skill, Juggs is prey to the pack! Juggs is a certified game-changer in respect to losing the match. It'd be very bad for a team to constantly rely on that tag team gamble, and against professional players, that gamble is like a godsend to them because they can basically kill three enemies at once, while only fighting one--albeit horribly mobile force. In addition, you also limit the number of bodies on the map, which will give the opponents more "weapons" available and many more options in terms of changing their strategy to attack in groups and single out other, weaker cars (in terms of armor) to drastically reduce the odds and completely shift the game into their favor. Twisted Metal is all about controlling maps and the weapon spawns; and doing this will instantly give the baton over to the enemy and let them run a marathon all over the place.
Â
If I had a combination to select, I'd probably do an Axel + Talon combo rather than this. Axel and Talon complement each other very well, especially since Axel can launch foes into the air and Talon can then "have height" over that opponent and won't have to elevate as much as it normally would had Axel not done a launch attack. Due to the fact that if you button mash, Talon's special is basically useless... With this, however, Talon's special would have more effect because Talon can elevate higher than normal due to the head start: button mashing would release the car, but damage would be felt from the drop. This combination would be fairly simple to execute and the two cars are able to "easily" manage it with their relative speed and build. Risks? None. It builds on both characters allowing them to work together without making themselves weaker targets or limiting each other.
Â
You could do the same thing with Roadboat and Talon, but it'd be harder since you'll have to either have a high building, or have Talon lift Roadboat and then have the Roadboat user "blast" the opponent away from a higher height. This one would be harder to pull off, though, but the reward would be better because it not only allows the opponent to be hurt, but it also allows the opponent to be sent farther away from the two vulnerable vehicles. You could also use this by having Talon ram the opponent into a wall while Roadboat is using the magnet special.
Â
Other aspects of Roadboat include combining him with Crimson Fury and Kamekaze, as well as the guided missile specials or Junkyard Dog. Doing this, it'll allow Roadboat to hold an enemy hostage and the other car can then come in and use their special with the opponent being trapped; and giving them more damage done since they can full utilize the special's capabilities: Junkyard Dog can launch a car off a wall for more damage since Roadboat can go into the position. Kamekaze can use the flamethrower, or EMP bomb. Same with Crimson Fury.
Â
In fact, JYD is the most compatible team-oriented car in every mode, except maybe ones that restrict health. Outside of him, Axel and Roadboat would be the next two; however, Roadboat needs assistance in order to be "exceptional" at this, where as Axel doesn't. Juggs is only good for his high armor, and is a better "shield" and cover than actually using him as a transformer. Having a fast car use Juggs as a wall is much better than having the fast car inside Juggs.
Â
But, in all honesty, it'll be the same as before: as a team, you control the important weapons on the map and the important spots. As a team, you attack the opponents that are weaker (armor) and kill them off then move on to take out the other opponents in a similar fashion. As a team, you would ultimately control the game. There would be little need for combination plays, Talon, Juggs (unless you used him as a "one way train" that collected weapons on a route and rear fired the whole time), and probably JYD (unless health becomes allowed). Â Sweet Tooth and Axel will probably be permanent choices; as well as Darkside, a fast car, and perhaps Vermin for certain modes; or Roadboat for the others. More often than not, you'll have a few speedsters and a few high armored cars to balance out. Roadboat and Vermin will likely be there for "objective" purposes; otherwise, you'll see people swap them for other vehicles.Â
Â
Shadow should be used a lot if its got good armor. Outlaw is probably going to be one of the most important cars to use.
Â
Nuke is a disappointment if we can't remove respawn from it... An objective that good shouldn't have a respawn mode attached to it. It'd be much better with a limit to lives, and such. Â
