I really enjoyed your summary of these two movies and description of how they delve into less cut and dry issues. One thing I would have like to see much more of was commentary about what YOU think about these issues like paying your dues absolving you of future judgement, or being innocent until proven guilty. Regarding the second film, there are theories that pedophelia is not something you can cure, only manage, does this play into how the character is treated because people are worried he will act again, or is it out of the pure stigma of what he did previously without thought to the present or future? As for the first film, what about the idea that once you are accused of pedophilia, you may NEVER be fully exonerated in the eyes of the public. I know of so many adults who refuse to touch a child in any way, even for a platonic hug, because they are worried about even being accused and having that ruin their lives.

I guess when you say it's an editorial, I really do want to hear more discussion about the issues instead of a description of the movies and a discussion of how they bring up the issues.

Child abuse is a difficult subject to tackle well -- especially when you're trying to convey it in a meaningful, thought-provoking manner through film, television and possibly even video games.  This is the first I've ever heard of these films, and it's somewhat discouraging when they're not given the same attention as all those blockbusters and rom coms that are heavily promoted by Hollywood these days.  That said, I must commend you for bringing these films to the forefront and promoting them as important elements in encouraging discussions on a tragic issue that seems to affect millions of children every day in this country.

I really liked your overall analysis on both of these films.  I felt I was given a better understanding of the overall tone and the seriousness of the plot, so I know what to expect when I see them.   As xyse said, I would have liked to have seen more of your own personal feelings regarding child abuse/pedophilia and how the films fared in appropriately exploring these issues, but you generalized and explained your stance in well enough detail.  Still, what you have written down is great work. Keep it up!
