Although details are still sketchy at this time, PWInsider.com has learned that World Wrestling Entertainment has suspended Randy Orton for 60 days. I'm not yet sure of the reason, but I hope to have more on this story later today.
5:40 PM Update: WWE issued a text message via their mobile service confirming the story, citing that Orton had been suspended for "unprofessional conduct."
It should be interesting to see what WWE does at tonight's Smackdown taping as Orton had been advertised in the main event, challenging WWE World champion Rey Mysterio.

True, but this is the WWE we're talking about. They could probably replace Orton with Angle pretty easily and nobody would really care.

Hmm, "unprofessional conduct."Â Given the universally well documented history Orton has as a partier, I'm thinking someone may have had a little too much fun at the post-Wrestlemania party and probably beyond.
Well given the way, that he has treated the fans before and other things, I would not be suprised, if that had something to do with it, but who knows right now
It will be interesting to see the reports from the Smackdown Tapings later on this evening
yeah, this is pretty bad for both the wwe and orton. but lets not get to rational here, i dont think he is on drugs, or beat up someone..it was "unprofessional conduct" i bet he just got wasted at a bar, and...the wwe didnt like the moves he made/said.
HOWEVER rey will just have to defend against angle tonight, if not teddy says angle vs. benoit for #1 contender spot.(i can only hope though) orton is gone for 60 days...thats a looong time. he will miss backlash, and a lot more.

I couldn't believe it when i first saw it..... and now i'm overjoyed. The bastard got exactly what was coming to him. Like the Dude pointed out, the guy has a history, from crazy partying to taking dumps in people's duffel bags. Any other Superstar who didn't happen to be the son of a Never Was with semi-pull would've been released long ago for pulling that kind of crap.
This is perfect! :twisted: After losing cleanly at WM, he'll lose every last bit of momentum that he ever had a chance of rebuilding. He may not have been released, but he might as well have been. For a while, Randy was a lost cause. Now after this, he'll be deadweight. Best news in a while!

I agree. WWE.com hasn't posted anything and still lists Orton as Mysterios opponent tonight. Maybe Orton will say or do something that will make the absence justified in a story sense.
I honestly don't know what to think. I mean my first insticnt was a work, 60 days is crazy (ample time to recover from an injury). And the fact that is only appears on the phone service and not the website supports my thesis. But once again like I stated 60 days is a long time, I'm kind of actually bummed for him if its true. Orton has a world of potential it isn't his fault he has been handled poorly, I hope that he doesn't fall down the life of so many other self destructive wrestlers.
I just don't really like Orton in the first place, so I will not miss him in the least. I do hope that he isn't doing anything self destructive, and if he is, I do hope him the best.

Angle will probably stay in the hunt...but sadly, they may put Taker back up there(ugh) and Henry too(double ugh). I don't see them putting Benoit in the hunt because it looks like he is in a worthless feud with JBL over the US Title. Booker used to be a possibility for WHC but WWE destroyed all of his credibility.
Maybe they should bring some peeps over from RAW...

I don't think so, SD! already looks kind of weak because they had to bring Helms and Angle over to be champions.
I am kinda glad to hear that news. I met Orton once at Gold's Gym on Dorsett Rd in Maryland Heights MO. He is the absolute biggest jerk I have ever met. You know I have seen pictures of Orton from his high school wrestling days. He certainly got beat more than he won.
