Hogan in Trouble?
http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/hoganintrouble

August 4, 2006

Earlier today, the WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon, received an urgent phone call from Hulk Hogan.

Hogan said that there’s a possibility that he has a cracked meniscus, which in turn could possibly prevent him from appearing on RAW this Monday night in Memphis, next week’s RAW in Charlottesville and even SummerSlam.

Hulk Hogan will have an MRI tonight at a Miami hospital to determine the extent of the injury which is in his right knee (his good one).

"It started about two weeks ago, like a toothache," Hogan said, "the joint on the outside of the knee. I was complaining to my son Nick that it was killing me all the time. I have been on the road with my daughter Brooke and haven't been able to work out my legs like I should."

Hogan added: "Yesterday, I did a couple of leg exercises at a gym. When I got home, I sat on my new couch and it was like sitting in a hole. When I got up, it sounded like a snap, an explosion in the kneecap. I can stand and walk a bit, but its hard for me to sit and get up and down the stairs."

Hogan was despondent that he might not compete against the Legend Killer Randy Orton. The RAW roster is currently in Australia, and due to the time difference in Australia, Randy Orton was not available for comment.

Hulk Hogan is arguably the greatest WWE Legend of all time, and if his injury prevents him from competing against Randy Orton at SummerSlam, there is no doubt he will see him sometime in the future.

Well this is going to suck that Hogan might not be at Summerslam to compete with Orton. I wonder how WWE will play this out.

WHAT CHA GONNA DO HOGAN, WHEN FATHER TIME RUNS WILD ON YOU?!?

Anyways, I can see a few things happening.

1. This is a huge work.

2. If its not then Hogan decides to actually let Nick wrestle.

3. Or if he is injured they have Harry (I forgot his last name but he's related to the British Bulldog) take over to debut since he has some involvement in Hogan's show and took the place Orton wanted. I think this one is more likely than #2.

If it is, and I highly doubt it is, they sure fooled me because I think it sounds legit, unfortunately.

Note, and this is a big IF; if the Legend vs. Legend Killer, Hogan vs. Orton match speculated for Summerslam gets canned in the end, the WWE will sure have to plucker up one worthy main-event to replace its significance.

Haha, that made me laugh, Dude. I'm hoping that it is true. I dispise Hogan, who seems to refuse to put over current talent (HBK and Orton, for example) in order to keep the people loving him, which is dumb because he's still a legend if he loses. Not to mention, this rivalry is l-a-m-e and would have made Orton look like a chump... again. They need to start pushing him as the Legend Killer and have him start "killing" a bunch of legends again.

But yeah, I find this whole thing pretty funny.

Did Orton kill a Gypsy's daughter or something a few years ago? The boy is cursed.

Not that i'm complaining.

Is this Pre-AWAL or was this when he was working for WWE?

Hmm... could this be a similiar situation to Stone Cold's "Car Accident"? Maybe Hogan and WWE couldn't get on the same page about something so Hogan went "Brother I'm not doing it then Brother brother brother brother dude".

Goodpoint, perhaps Orton was going to win and the ancient bat made a temper tantrum but this time Vince wouldn't buy it. Why kill a young promising star's push for a guy way over his prime?

Hogan Injured; Possibly Going To Miss SummerSlam
Date Added: August 05, 2006
Story By: Ryan Gray
The following comes from WWE.com:

On Friday, the WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon, received an urgent phone call from Hulk Hogan.

Hogan said that there’s a possibility that he has a cracked meniscus, which in turn could possibly prevent him from appearing on RAW this Monday night in Memphis, next week’s RAW in Charlottesville and even SummerSlam.

Hulk Hogan had an MRI tonight at a Miami hospital to determine the extent of the injury which is in his right knee (his good one). Doctors will examine it over the weekend.

WWE.com reached Orton who is currently touring with the RAW roster in Australia.

When told about Hogan's sudden injury, Orton responded by saying, "Typical Hogan. I have been around the man since I was a child. It seems that every time he gets in a situation that he can't handle or if he gets in over his head, he blows out a knee or his back. Case and point, the old man (chuckling) blew out his knee getting up from the couch."

Hulk Hogan is arguably the greatest WWE Legend of all time, and if his injury prevents him from competing against Randy Orton at SummerSlam, there is no doubt he will see him sometime in the future.

-----------------------

I hope this doesn't mean Wrestlemania will be a Hogan vs Orton show...because that would mean Hogan would have aged even more from now until then and that would mean the entire show would be brought down because he's just that awful in the ring.

Here's another update:

HULK SAYS IT IS 'TOUCH AND GO' FOR HIM WRESTLING AT SUMMERSLAM
by Buck Woodward @ 9:43:00 AM on 8/8/2006

Hulk Hogan appeared this morning on "Live With Regis & Kelly". Hogan wore jeans and a T-Shirt, and there was no noticeable brace on either knee. Hogan actually "go-go danced" behind a screen as part of a contest introduction (although I don't believe his feet ever left the floor).

When Hogan came out to be interviewed, he walked gingerly, but wasn't noticeably limping. Hogan joked about how his "hand to the ear" still gets cheers after all these years. They talked about the longevity of his popularity, and Hogan remarked that "Brookeamania" was now running wild. They discussed "Hogan Knows Best" with Hulk saying it was great for his daughter's career, then joked that when he goes to shopping malls, the crowd now runs past him to get to his family.

After a commercial, Regis asked Hogan about wrestling. Hogan said his wife purchased a new couch that he sunk into when he sat down, and as he was trying to get up out of it, he felt his knee pop. Hogan noted that it was a meniscus tear in his good knee, not the knee he has had reconstructive surgery on. He said he could walk, but has trouble with stairs. He said he is scheduled to wrestle "in a few weeks" but that it was "touch and go" about whether he would be able to. There was no mention of Randy Orton or the word "Summerslam" at all.

During this discussion, Hogan was asked what the worst injury was he ever suffered in the ring. Hogan said that at Wrestlemania III when he slammed Andre The Giant, he tore up the right side of his back. And for those keeping track, Hogan said that Andre was billed at 500 pounds, but "was closer to 700 pounds".

Hogan was asked what he wanted for his birthday, which is this week, and Hogan said he is so tired of all the cameras, family and animals, he wants a piece of duct tape placed over everyone's mouths (including his own) for 24 hours.

They closed the segment by mentioning that Hogan would be taking part in the Pokemon celebration in New York City today. Hogan put over Pokemon as being positive for kids, and that they are involved with the Starlight and Make A Wish Foundations.

---
So a couch is the reason that Hulk might miss Summerslam? That couch should be the next WWE Champion. Also, it's my hero.
