Ah yes..... The third enstallment of "The Debates".  My last one didn't go as well as I had planned, but I think the question was confusing to some people.  So now I'm back to redeem myself with a new debate.

The debate question is this....  In your eyes, what wrestler is the most consistent in ring performer of all-time?  There are lots of wrestlers to choose from in this one, so make sure that you pick something fresh and original and back it up with your own opinions.  Being able to explain why you think that way is more important than just stating your opinion.

Let the debate begin!

hmm, there are so many guys that go out their everynight and put on a good match no matter what.

i'd have to say Chris Benoit. the man can deliver. even if he's facing Orlando Jordan, any match he is in, he can elevate it to something special.

Kurt Angle has brought out the best in many men. His series of matches with Benoit, Edge, Austin, Rock, HBK, and HHH have all been great matches. He is one wrestler who does his damndest every night regardless of his condition

Hmm, this is hard one...so many greats over the years, obviously.

I say its toss between the likes of Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit.

Hmm, I have to go with Chris Jericho. He is awesome worker and he knows how to bring some special out of most (or all) competitors he works with, even if it is John Cena...he can bring something special out of his opponent(s) and the match as well.

J/K. I would say Chris Benoit, because he takes alot of crap the WWE has given him and still works his best each and every day he wrestles

There are numerous wrestlers I could ramble on about through this debate but I’ll only choose one. I think you guys know who I am talking about.

Shawn Michaels. Regardless of his past reputation he was looked upon, he was a different guy in the ring. He always made sure that his reputation didn’t get involved with what went on the ring, although at some times it did and that nearly cost him his career.

Despite that, Michaels always makes sure that he puts on the best show he can for us. Nowadays, his ego isn’t as reluctant as it was years ago. His politics backstage before can be looked upon but now he just cares about making the fans mark out, regardless if he is booked to lose a match.

He really is a wrestler that puts on the best show one can offer throughout his matches. His injuries didn’t stop him either. Michaels/Jericho from WM19 was a turning point for his career because it proved that he still had it in him; to steal the show.

Theres an old saying that a good champion could wrestle a broom and make a hell of a match out of it. The thought being that true greats can perform with anyone. In the past we've seen many a wrestler have a great match but most of these men needed counter-parts equal enough to exceed. That is why my choice goes to two men who are consistently facing abysmal talent but wrestling like it is the main event.

My choice goes to Chris Benoit/Chris Jericho. Floundering in the midcard due to poor management choices has never hurt the reputation these men have worked so hard to achieve. The term "night off" does not appear to be in their vocabulary, night in and night out they wrestle who they have too and they put over who they are asked no questions asked. Overlooked by most casual fans Chris Benoit has on more then once held stunning matches with even the most green of talent, he has an uncanny ability to make some like Orlando Jordan look like HHH in the ring. Chris Jericho most recently was asked to put over a far less experienced Cena (one who has not paid as many dues as himself). Rather then have some back stage tantrum Jericho performed like a true Champ, he did not question Cena or his ability, in fact elevated Cena. In what is probably a dying courtesy, Jericho lost cleanly to Cena for the belt and thus truely making the Champ look like a Champ. One cannot remember the last time Undertaker, HHH, or Kurt Angle lost cleanly.

Can't believe none of you have mentioned Ricky Steamboat. I can't recall one match where Steamboat half-assed it. He'd bring the same depth and detail to his matches every night and always kept himself in peak physical condition. On top of that, the man could carry just about anyone to a ** 1/2 - *** match at the very least.

I agree with that.... I mean look at his WrestleMania 3 match.  Granted, Savage wasn't that bad of an in-ring performer, but Steamboat managed to make him look like one of the all-time greats in that ring, even though Savage lost the match.  My dad was actually there for that match also..... one of the reasons I envy him. :P

Steamboat was deffinitly one of those guys who never gave 50%. Although I felt later in his career he somewhat lost touch with what the audience wanted to see.

Theres plenty of people who i feel are consictent, Benoit, HBK, RVD.

I am pretty sure nobody here would say Cena is the most consictent. But i do think Cena trys as hard as he can to do well. I just think he dosent deserve his current spot in the company.

If you look at his size, HBK isn't that big and strong. He isn't the fastest, and he isn't the most technical. But he can wrestle really good matches. Benoit has really good in ring skills which shows agaisnt his opponents. These two can make almost anyone look good in the ring. RVD in my opinion is a very good tag team wrestler who has very unique moves when he is in a tag team. Just look at who he has been with: Kane, Rey Mysterio & Booker T. All those tag teams were awesome when they fought in my opinion.
