The following is from WWE.com:

At an ECW show today in Milwaukee, Wis., ECW’s “Messiah” Paul Heyman declared that Rob Van Dam will, in fact, receive his ECW World Title opportunity at December to Dismember. However, Heyman also made the monumental announcement that RVD’s title match will take place in the first-ever Extreme Elimination Chamber.

RVD earned his chance at the championship last week in a Ladder Match and, as announced on ECW.com earlier this week, Van Dam selected ECW’s next pay-per-view on Dec. 3 as the setting for his title opportunity. However, the stipulations for that contest fall under Heyman’s own judgment.

Thus, ECW World Champion Big Show will defend his gold against five other Extremists within the lethal chamber structure. In addition to the Extreme Giant and RVD, the remaining four participants will be determined through a series of qualifying matches that will take place over the next few weeks – the first of which can be seen Tuesday night on ECW on Sci Fi.

The only thing more dangerous than the chamber itself will be the throng of hardcore competitors enclosed in its massive walls. Who will qualify for this unprecedented encounter? Exactly what awaits RVD, Big Show and the other Extremists at December to Dismember?

Tune in to ECW on Sci Fi to learn more about this unique and extreme event and be sure to catch December to Dismember on Dec. 3 on pay-per-view.

Oh please let CM Punk be in that match! Who else could be in it... Sandman, Sabu, Holly, Test, Dreamer and... Kevin Thron maybe? ECW doesn't have that many main-eventers.

RVD in this one pretty much guarantees this EC, like the first one, will be great. Plus, knowing that the likes of Sabu, Sandman, and Dreamer will get thrown in the mix certainly excites me. The concept fits the brand and the roster, both old and new. Oh and CM Punk is a likely candidate to be one of the participants might I note, especially with his winning streak and ability to draw more chants and cheers each week.

If they dont let Punk in this match it wont be as great, but having RVD in this match is just as good.

Wow this is big for ECW. Extreme Elimination Chamber is going to be filled with weapons. Can't wait to see it. For everyone saying that CM Punk must be in this match, well I dunno. They are, afterall, setting up his fued with Mike Knox. So that could be a one on one match at the PPV. In this chamber, I see Sabu, Test, Hardcore Holly, and maybe Sandman. Tommy Dreamer might continue his fued with Kevin Thorn.

Although the Elimination Chamber, for me, has lost some of it's spectacular presence I'm really looking forward to it.

I say the other four should be: Sabu, Test, Dreamer & Holly. Punk won't make it in, he'll be facing Knox. Sandman won't make it in as he will probably face Stryker again. I could also see Heymen trying to completely screw RVD and the other four happen to be his two enforcers, Test & ??? not sure of another loyalist they could use at the moment.

I really think this will end up clinching my buy for the PPV, no matter who ends up in the match.

It should be interesting, especially if they ECWise it by adding in something like barbed wire links instead of the normal Chain Links, so in essence, what you have is a giant steel structure held together by Barbed Wire

Wow, this is huge!  I really need to get those damn tickets.  Better start upping the ante on pestering my friends into going.

I was rather curious as to why they gave away RVD vs Show on consecutive weeks, instead of saving it for the PPV.

This really does a terrific job playing into Heyman "stacking the deck" against RVD, reducing a 50-50 shot, with RVD showing he's got Show's number, at winning to 1/6, while adding several interesting factors to the main event.

I've said from the beginning that, as great as the first one was, there was untapped potential in the Elimination Chamber.  No one has used the Chamber like Van Dam and I think that this one will see some new twists added that could make this one ridiculous.

This match also plays to the strengths of what ECW has to offer.  RVD and Show are your only true main eventers, so sell them on the spectacle of the Chamber and possibilities of "taking it to the Extreme."  It seems likely RVD will be in at #1 and have to be one of the final two, which benefits the match in numerous ways.  Show will probably enter last and be allowed to be a wrecking ball and be well protected in likely defeat.  Plus, with 5 other wrestlers, he won't have to be as involved as he would against just RVD.  Throw in the possibility of Sabu in the Chamber and things get really dangerous.

And Punk SHOULD NOT be in this match.  The PPV needs an undercard, after all.

I am really psyched now and really need to get on my buddies to sign on or I'll just go it alone!  I will not miss this!

Well, I thought I'd never say this about WWECW but, this is the worst time for a WWE brand to introduce the Elimination Chamber. I mean, they barely have 6 main eventers let alone the rest of the card. How are they gonna cope?

The only ones I think should be put in it or at least be believeably put into it are: RVD, Big Show, Sabu, Sandman, CM Punk, John Cena and Booker T (That's if the interpromotional Champion fued is still running by then.)

Unless it's an ECW One Night Stand type scenario where they get wrestlers who used to be in ECW like Benoit, Jericho, Malenko or something..then it just won't work in my view.

With the roster ECW has now, how will they ever manage a 3-hour PPV? Like ONS, with WWE involvement of course.

Wow, that should be awesome. I guess they are doing this because they initially expected buyrates for December to Dismember to be really low.

I highly doubt the feud will last till December. Something's bound to shake up the feud these days and that might actually end up being a qualifying match up for the EC match.

On the note of "Extreme", I am pondering whether or not weapons will be surrounded within the structure, if not, hanging from it, or something?

Thats what I was thinking. I also don't think Sandman or Striker will be in it since they will more than likely have a one on one match. Well now that I think about it, it would be smart to put both of them in there and go along with something along the lines of "Striker can't get out of the chamber to run from Sandman" which if I recall correctly is what has been happening lately.

Interesting, I wonder how they'll change it to make it more Extreme. But also I'm wondering if they'll still do the EC at NYR since their doing it 1 month before then.

Exactly, his fued with Moore lasted what? 2 weeks? The thing is that it's most likely he will get a qualifying match for the chamber and if he wins he's in, if not his streak is ruined.
