[QUOTE="bulletproofcow"]I didn't need to see Jimmy Jacobs puke...plus the screaming was a headache waiting to happen.keiblerfan69
What you can't happen the sight of someone throwing up?

Normally I can handle it. But I was eating a sandwich at the time and it wasn't the most pleasent thing to see halfway through a bite.

The Announcement.  Japanese Joe is coming for his Samoan Counterpart and more.

The Morishima Announcement

Monday, January 22, 2007

The partnership between Ring Of Honor and Pro Wrestling NOAH will continue this February for ROH's Fifth Year Festival when Takeshi Morishima makes his in ring ROH debut. Morishima has signed to wrestle at ROH's events on 2/16 in Manhattan, 2/17 in Philadelphia, 2/23 in Dayton and 2/24 in Chicago. Tickets for all four shows are now on sale at www.ROHwrestling.com or by calling 215-781-2500. We are also pleased to announce several of Morishima's matches for this tour.

Here is the rundown: Morishima will answer Samoa Joe's challenge for 2/16 in New York at the Manhattan Center. It will be Morishima vs. Joe for ROH's huge return to Manhattan!!! There will be much more on this match in upcoming editions of the ROH Video Wire and ROHwrestling.com Newswire. ROH World Champion Homicide has sent open contracts all over the wrestling world. The one shipped to the NOAH office has been signed by Morishima.

It will be Morishima vs. ROH World Champion Homicide for the title on 2/17 in Philadelphia. If Homicide loses the belt before 2/17, Morishima will face whoever the champion is in Philadelphia. If Samoa Joe defeats Homicide on 1/27 in Edison, NJ, it will be Joe vs. Morishima non-title in Manhattan and then Joe vs. Morishima for the belt in Philadelphia.

If Morishima wins the belt on 2/17 in Philadelphia he will make his first defense on 2/23 in Dayton. BJ Whitmer is scheduled to challenge for the World Title in Dayton no matter who the champion is on that date. If Morishima is not champion he will be faced with a main event caliber ROH star. Dayton will get the best match possible.

ROH's debut at the Windy City Fieldhouse in Chicago on 2/24 will see a gigantic tag team main event. It will be Morishima & Nigel McGuinness vs. Samoa Joe & Homicide!!! Tag matches don't get any bigger than this as the NOAH vs. Samoa Joe feud reaches its peak. Morishima is ready to make a big impact in ROH. This hard-hitter is easily the biggest and most intimidating competitor to step foot into ROH. However, Morishima will be tested as soon as he comes to Ring Of Honor.

There will be lots more news of Morishima's first tour of ROH in the upcoming weeks in the ROHwrestling.com Newswire and ROH Video Wire.

Can't wait to see Morishima/Joe at 2/16, but honestly i have to question the logic of having Morishima go after the title the next night. Now the Rave defense seems meaningless and predictable, when before it was the complete opposite.

From PWInsider:

RING OF HONOR TO RUN FIRST SHOWS IN JAPAN THIS SUMMER
by Mike Johnson @ 10:35:00 AM on 1/22/2007

Ring of Honor will make its debut this summer in Japan, it was announced this morning. ROH official Syd Eick traveled to Japan for the official announcement. The promotion will run joint shows on 7/16 in Tokyo with Pro Wrestling NOAH and 7/17 in Osaka with Dragon's Gate.

ROH has had working agreements with both companies over the past several years, sending talent overseas and hosting a number of Japanese stars including Kenta Kobashi, CIMA, KENTA, Naomichi Marufuji, and Dragon Kid among others. ROH hosted the first-ever American title defense of Pro Wrestling NOAH's Global Honored Crown championship last September in New York City. The Briscoe Brothers and Nigel McGuinness, among others have toured with NOAH. Jimmy Rave, Austin Aries, Jack Evans, and Roderick Strong have toured with Dragon's Gate.

Sports Navi in Japan theorized that this may lead to a "Supershow" with all three promotions working together, but that is just conjecture at this point.

Management of SHIMMER - WOMEN ATHLETES is proud to announce the first live SHIMMER event outside our home base in the Chicago area! It will take place on Sunday, July 1st, at the Citrus County Auditorium in Inverness, FL!

This will be a full SHIMMER live event, featuring all of the top stars of the SHIMMER DVD series, as we take the most skilled women wrestlers on the road for the first time! The show will be part of a huge three show weekend in the area, as FULL IMPACT PRO will present "Heatstroke '07" that Friday & Saturday night, June 29th & 30th. Friday night, 6/29, FIP is in Inverness at the Citrus County Auditorium, and Saturday night, 6/30, FIP is at the National Guard Armory in Crystal River, FL. Fans will be able to see the SHIMMER stars in action as part of Special Attraction bouts on the FIP events during the course of the weekend, in addition to Sunday's all SHIMMER card!

Just like each of our tapings in the Chicago area, the weekend's SHIMMER matches will all be filmed for DVD release at ROHwrestling.com.

Fans who attend all three events during the course of the weekend will be given a discount on admission. We're announcing this huge weekend well in advance, so that our fans can clear their calendars for that weekend now, should they wish to take a vacation to Florida and check out two of ROH's sister promotions LIVE on the same weekend.

Both Crystal River and Inverness are roughly a 90 minute drive from either Tampa or Orlando, for fans who are interested in taking an extended vacation, and spending additional time at other attractions in either major city.

Details concerning the talent rosters for both FIP and SHIMMER during the "Heatstroke '07" triple shot will be released during the coming months as we get closer to the events. Mark your calendars now, and make your plans to be there live for a huge weekend in independent wrestling - June 29th, June 30th, and July 1st in the state of Florida!

January 23rd: Word has already leaked all over the internet and a press conference was held in Japan, but now we are making it official. Ring Of Honor will be headed to Japan in July for two shows. These will be authentic ROH shows. The first night will see ROH work closely with Pro Wrestling NOAH to present an event in Tokyo at Differ Ariake. The second night will see ROH work closely with Dragon Gate to hold an event in Osaka. There will be much more news including several huge announcements about these events in the upcoming months. These will be two of the most important shows in ROH history.

January 23rd: ROH will stand for Reign Of Homicide this weekend. ROH World Champion Homicide will begin his title reign this Friday in the Boston area when he defends against Chris Hero. Something to keep an eye on is the interaction with Homicide's second Julius Smokes and Hero's super agent Larry Sweeney. Hero's new agent has already taken a huge gamble. Sweeney has refused to sign Hero for any shows after this weekend. Sweeney believes that Hero will win the World Title in Boston and then he will be able to name Hero's price for the Fifth Year Festival. The tradition will continue of the new ROH World Champion opening the show as this Friday's event will start with Homicide addressing the crowd.

January 23rd: If Homicide makes it past Hero on Friday, he will be faced with Samoa Joe on Saturday in Edison, NJ. This is a true "Battle Of The Icons" as two ROH Legends collide and the World Title could be on the line!!! Joe and Homicide had one of the most legendary feuds in ROH history, but when they meet on Saturday things will be much different. The two have formed a friendship based on respect in 2006. Not only that, but in the past it was always Joe defending the ROH World Title against Homicide. Now the tables could be turned. When ROH starts a hall of fame years from now, both Joe and Homicide will get in on the first ballot. This bout could determine who gets the first plaque.

January 23rd: The buy 3, get 1 free sale at www.ROHwrestling.com on all ROH show, Straight Shootin' and Secrets Of The Ring DVDs continues until tomorrow night. This is a great opportunity to get new releases like 11/25 "Dethroned" from Edison, NJ featuring a wild main event. You'll witness the entire show on DVD including: Samoa Joe & Homicide vs. Jay & Mark Briscoe in an insane Falls Count Anywhere Elimination Street Fight; Austin Aries vs. Davey Richards in a classic battle; Nigel McGuinness vs. Jimmy Rave in a hard-hitting bout; Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal for the ROH World Tag Titles; BJ Whitmer vs. Jimmy Jacobs in a bloodbath; Roderick Strong defends the FIP Heavyweight Title vs. Shingo; Delirious vs. Jason Blade; Brent Albright vs. El Generico; Shane Hagadorn vs. Bobby Dempsey for the Top Of The Class Trophy and more on this action packed DVD featuring all styles of wrestling!!!

January 23rd: SHIMMER star Sara Del Rey will make her return to ROH on 2/16 in Manhattan and 2/24 in Chicago. We'll have more info soon.

January 23rd: Just as warning for anyone thinking about attending the 2/16 event in Manhattan. We are on course for ROH's third consecutive sellout in that building and it could come sooner than later. Get your tickets now at www.ROHwrestling.com or by calling 215-781-2500 to see Homicide vs. Jimmy Rave and Samoa Joe vs. Takeshi Morishima. The Manhattan Center is the place to be. Don't risk getting shut out.

January 23rd: This weekend marks the return of two athletes looking to make a big impact in ROH in 2007. After nearly a one year absence, Rocky Romero is back in ROH to stay. Romero will team with his old partner Ricky Reyes to battle The Briscoes to try to settle the issue from 2004 that was never resolved. That match will happen this Saturday in Edison. Romero will face Davey Richards in Braintree, MA on Friday in a battle of two hard kickers. Jack Evans is back from another extended stay in Dragon Gate. Evans looks better than ever and will be tested by top prospect Eddie Edwards on Friday and then team with his former Gen Next partners Austin Aries & Roderick Strong for a show stealing six man on Saturday vs. Delirious, Davey Richards & Shingo. This match could easily steal the entire weekend. Tickets will be available at the door on both nights and you can still get them in advance at ROHwrestling.com.

The_Dude is gonna be glad he'll never see his name on a match list again...

"That is why I came to the realization that 2007 will be my last year in the squared circle. As I approach 34 years old and my body breaks down with each match, it gets more difficult to be in the ring. I will still be involved on the other side of the business but as for wrestling in the ring December 31 will be it." - Steve Corino (MySpace)

Only 34 years too late.

Wait, he's not even 34?  Sweet Baby Jesus, he looks a lot older.  And he wrestles like he's in his late 70s.

Seriously, that's just f***** up. Seriously dude, the fact that you started a sentence with the word "and" disgusts me.

Anyway, never seen him wrestle, so I'll just have to mooch off Dude's opinion and say it's my own.

January 25th: The ROH mini-offseason is officially over as ROH returns to action in a big way tomorrow (Friday) at the Braintree National Guard Armory on 275 Union Street in Braintree, MA with a zip code of 02184. The building is located just outside Boston right off I-93. There will be tickets at the door and belltime is 8pm. You will see a double main event. Homicide make his first defense of the ROH World Title when he defends vs. Chris Hero. These two tore down the house at "In Your Face" last June and now the stakes are raised in the Boston area. The other half of the double main event will see the continuation and possible conclusion of one of the top tag team rivalries of 2006. It will be Austin Aries & Roderick Strong vs. Jay & Mark Briscoe and it will be 2/3 Falls in Braintree!!! To make things even more interesting The Briscoes have stated that they will win this in two straight falls. That is a tall order since Aries & Strong defeated The Briscoes in all three of their matches last year. No matter what happens, you are guaranteed to see tag team wrestling at its best tomorrow night in Boston.

January 25th: This Saturday will see ROH return to the Inman Sports Club on 990 Inman Avenue
in Edison, NJ with a zip code of 08820 to witness the "Battle Of The Icons" as Homicide takes on Samoa Joe. Belltime is 7:30pm and there will be tickets available at the door. If Homicide makes it past Hero on Friday, the ROH World Title will be on the line when Homicide faces Joe. Do we really need to hype this main event? You know the story, now it is time to see two of the greatest forces in ROH history collide. It will be a battle of ROH Legends in Edison.

January 25th: Check the main page of www.ROHwrestling.com for an article detailing the saga that involves Jimmy Jacobs, Lacey, Brent Albright, BJ Whitmer, Daizee Haze and Colt Cabana. It explains everyone's motivation and is a great companion to the current ROH Video Wire that you can watch for free at ROHvideos.com.

January 25th: The buy 3, get 1 free sale on all ROH show, Straight Shootin' & Secrets Of Ring DVDs will be in effect at the live events this weekend in Braintree and Edison.

January 25th: What does it look like when ROH comes to an agreement with the hippest company in Japan and the biggest company in Japan? It looks like this:
http://sportsnavi.yahoo.co.jp/headlines/images/20070122/20070122-00000022-spnavi-fight-view-000.jpg

January 25th: Check www.ROHwrestling.com later today for another big sale. ROHwrestling.com will also have both nights of "The Chicago Spectacular" available to order on DVD. Also make sure to check out Straight Shootin' With Konnan. This shoot interview is hosted by Jim Cornette and Cornette gets all the inside info on Konnan's career. Konnan takes you inside WCW, WWE, TNA and goes into detail on the legendary Antonio Pena in this shoot. Straight Shootin' With Konnan gives you all the scoops with two of wrestling's most entertaining and outspoken personalities. SHIMMER Vol. 6 is one of the hottest sellers at ROHwrestling.com. Witness women's wrestling at its best including Cheerleader Melissa vs. MsChif in a Last Woman Standing Match, the dream team of Sara Del Rey & Mercedes Martinez vs. Lacey & Rain, Rebecca Knox vs. Allison Danger in a Pure Wrestling Rules Match, Nikita vs. Daizee Haze and much more. Check all these releases out at ROHwrestling.com.

January 25th: The preshow in Braintree will feature some of New England's top upcoming talents. The New England wrestling scene is becoming a hotbed for talent and you can see the top prospects tomorrow night including Jason Blade and Eddie Edwards on the main show.

January 25th: There is a new roster video up at www.ROHvideos.com and on rohvideos.com. You can watch it for free to see Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, Roderick Strong, The Briscoes, the women of honor and many others. This is the first of two roster video rosters. The other one will be released in a couple of weeks. If you've never seen ROH before make sure you check out this video. Spread the word around the internet and tell everyone to watch ROH for FREE at ROHvideos.com. This roster video has footage of shows that haven't even been released on DVD yet!!!

January 25th: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter 2006 awards issue is out and ROH dominated. The main page of ROHwrestling.com has an article with a list of where ROH won and placed. ROH won several categories including match of the year for the "Supercard Of Honor" Blood Generation vs. Do Fixer bout and show of the year for 9/16 "Glory By Honor IV." Bryan Danielson won most outstanding and best technical wrestler, Samoa Joe won best brawler, Jim Cornette won best non-wrestler and Gabe Sapolsky won best booker. ROH also placed all over the awards including five of the top ten matches of the year and four of the top ten shows of the year. ROH was second for best promotion, behind UFC. This makes ROH the top pro wrestling company of the year. Thank you for everyone that voted for ROH. If you want to see the best of ROH or try out ROH for the first time we recommend you check out the awards to see the top stuff ROH has to offer.

January 25th: Here are some questions that will be answered tomorrow night in the Boston area: Can Homicide make it past his first defense? Will Chris Hero win the World Title and give Larry Sweeney bargaining power for the Fifth Year Festival? How will the New England prospects do? How good will the Aries & Strong vs. Briscoes 2/3 Falls Match be? Can The Briscoes really win in two straight falls? What will the intensity be like when Samoa Joe dukes it out with Nigel McGuinness? What will happen next in the saga of Jimmy Jacobs? Can Delirious get some revenge on Adam Pearce & Shane Hagadorn? How will Jack Evans and Rocky Romero look when they make their returns to ROH? What will happen on the first ROH show of 2007 to set the tone for the year?

January 25th: Edison on Saturday will be a true "Battle Of The Icons" when Homicide takes on Samoa Joe and it will be for the World Title if Homicide makes it past Boston. Who will win the battle of the icons? What will the Joe vs. Homicide match be like now that the roles could be reversed and the two share respect for each other? Will Jimmy Rave's heel hook make Nigel McGuinness say "I Quit" in their battle of respect? After what happened last time in Edison between Rave and McGuinness what lengths will these two go to in order to make the other say "I Quit"? Can The Briscoes get revenge from 2004 against the reformed Rottweilers of Rocky Romero & Ricky Reyes? How brutal will the Jimmy Jacobs vs. BJ Whitmer Last Man Standing Match be? Will the Jack Evans, Austin Aries & Roderick Strong vs. Delirious, Davey Richards & Shingo six man steal the show? Things just continue to get better and better.  Don't know much about Masaaki or Susumu, but I'm excited to see what they bring and the rest offer some major potential.

Now, if they can just bring back Alex Shelley, even if just for the Detroit shows.

Susumu is amazing. he's gonna steal the show if he's in a singles match with anyone.

Dang, I wanted to post something about Susumu since it's the only wrestlerin DG I have regularly watched. But yeah, he is great.

BTW, you know Dragon Gate do that thing where they take photos of the challenger, champion, ref holding the title belts before the match, kind like they do sometimes in other combat sports; do you think they could do that in RoH? It'd bring a little bit more credibility to the match and provide a bit more seriousness rather than having John Cena walking in with an ascending platform.

Main Show - 1/26/2007

1) Rocky Romero over Davey Richards via submission

2) Jack Evans over Eddie Edwards via pinfall

3) Delirious and Pelle Primeau over Adam Pearce and Shane Hagadorn when Delirious made Hagadorn tap. Pearce was brawling with Pelle outside the ring during the submission.

4) Jimmy Jacobs, Brent Albright, and Lacey over Colt Cabana, BJ Whitmer, and Daizee Haze when Jacobs pinned Daizee after putting her thru a table. Don't quote me on the finish. Daizee got a standing O from the crowd.

~Return date to Braintree in June 8, 2007. The venue is packed...like the best-drawn event in Braintree EVER!

5) Samoa Joe over Nigel McGuinness via submission. Jimmy Rave attacked Joe after the match.

6) Jimmy Rave won the Four Corner Survival over Jason Blade, Shingo, and Christopher Daniels when he made Daniels tap to the 'Heel Hook'.

7) Homicide pinned Chris Hero following "the sickest Cop Killa I've ever seen."

So, Aires/Strong vs Briscoes is taking the main event, cool.

I am really looking forward to Rave/Joe, when that one happens.

I totally did not see that coming.  I thought Aires-Strong would take the first fall and the Briscoes would take the next two.

When was the last time that happened?  Its like a Best of 5 not going to 5 matches.  Booker got hurt in one and they still managed to drag one out to 5.

Don't Aires and Strong have a Tag Title shot in the near future?  Could an Aires-Strong split be on the horizon?

Sounds like it was a good show. Between this show, Final Battle 2006, tomorrow night, and the 5th year festival, i'm gonna be broke.

Only if they stick to Romero vs Cide and just dump Reyes altogether, finally .  No one on the ROH roster has had as many opportunities to impress me and failed so completely as Reyes.  His best stuff was squashing students.
