Current backstage talk suggests that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will be the guest hosting the first RAW of 2010 on January 4th in Dayton, Ohio.

The Rock's newest film "Tooth Fairy" comes out on January 22, so it would make sense that he comes on the 1/4 show, if not the 1/11 or 1/18 shows.

A little bit. Figured they'd finally get sick of Raw being unable to build any momentum or consistentcy by constantly changing pace with guest host, most of whom suck, and put a more permanent authority figure in charge.

A permanent authority figure likely with the last name of McMahon.

EDIT: Also figure they'll run out of celebrities interested in appealing to the lowest common denominator.

Personally, I would not be surprised if they stuck with this gig past WrestleMania, and beyond. Like it or not, it has been a boost to the rating.

THis doesn't neccessarily mean it'll continue to January, they might stop and then let Rock guest host just because he's the Rock. You never know. Personally, I don't like the guest host idea... but meh, WWE doesnt agree with me much anymore.

Like 5 or 6 years ago I believe.. Maybe even 7. And my guess is due to changes in the company, the Attitude Era being over was probably the primary reason.

Run out of celebrities? No.

I'm fairly certain many celebrities would rather die than be associated with wrestling. Simply having his name associated with Wrestlemania involvement may have cost Mickey Rourke an Academy Award. It certainly did nothing to aid his cause.

To them, the wrestling audience is about as valuable as the **** they have someone else scrape off their shoes.

I'd like the whole guest host deal better if they stuck with people who've worked inside the wrestling business. Bringing in people like Al Sharpton is just mind boggling. Where as I enjoyed seeing Ted Dibiase and Dusty Rhodes as the hosts. The Rock should be a good host, and hopefully we can get some quality hosts between now and then.
