Right now, its not about which show I like more, its about which show I hate the least. Raw has really been in a funk since Mania, as it has suffered from terrible writing, asinine booking, and, of course, its trademark focus on Triple H. The only bright spots week in and week out are Christian, Benoit's work no matter the circumstances, and a match like HBK-Benjamin that keep me coming back. However, with the Diva Search coming back (WHY?!?!?!/1/1/?!), and the fact that Triple H will be back and will win the title(inevitability, my friends, inevitability), are major negatives.
With Smackdown, I would say the writing has been better, then they throw me Angle's tasteless and unnecessary promo last week, effectively killing my interest in what should be a great feud. Smackdown's main event picture looks like a barren wasteland as long as Cena is champion. JBL has developed into the best promo man in the business, but he needs people who can carry him in the ring. Eddie, Rey, Kurt, and Paul London are the only consistently entertaining parts of Smackdown, and as last week proved the terrible writing can hurt them too. Smackdown does seem to have a brighter future, with Christian potentially coming over to get in the main event and the return of Rob Van Dam (despite the fact he'll probably be wasted by the writing, again).
Both brands need the draft desperately and they need some writing that doesn't suck, as well. However, if I am forced to pick between Raw and Smackdown, right now, I'll chose Ring of Honor.
