Just as a question, what's your favorite Summerslam? Mine was the one in 2002.

Unfortunately, I missed the 2002 Summerslam. I can't find it on DVD anywhere anymore.Just as a question, what's your favorite Summerslam? Mine was the one in 2002.

With that in mind, I say 1991 Summerslam. Bret Hart vs Mr. Perfect for the Intercontinental Title was a sensational match/

Mine was SummerSlam: Highway to Hell [1998]
The HHH vs. Rock ladder match was awesome, the Outlaws vs. Mankind in a Dumpster match was very good and the WWF/E Championship match between Austin and Undertaker was very good IMHO. On side note: I love Mankind's interview before his match, very entertaining.
Agreed

hardy b edge
batista b JBL
hogan b HBK
cena b Y2J
Dark_NoobSaibot
i hope you are wrong with those two.
EDGE over matt (so matt realizes that he should go to TNA instead of jobbig to edge). besides, doesn't anyone else remember when a "big" superstar came back from a long hiatus because of what another wrestler did? i'm talking about the undertaker. kane helped bury him alive and then he came back at wrestlemania and squashed kane in a terrible terrible match. i don't want to see that again. i actually want to see a good match.the wwe is going to make a feud between edge and matt probably, and if matt won then it would end it. if edge won, matt would continue to be pissed at edge.
batista vs. jbl....batista hopefully. i hope lesnar comes in and destroys them both imho. i don't see jbl winning because once lesnar comes back, i'm sure the wwe is going to push the hell out of him and (heel) lesnar vs (heel) jbl won't work. unless it's something like (heel) lesnar vs. (face) batista vs. (heel) jbl vs. (face) benoit
hbk over hogan. if it ends with hogan victorious, that will basicly ruin any momentum hbk is gaining with his heel status or any chance at going after cena (unless cena turns heel). hogan has already had those "legendary" matches with current superstars and hbk doesn't deserve to job. this ISN'T going to be hogan's last match. so he might as well do the job.
well i'm sure it's going to be cena over jericho....but i really want jericho to win. he deserves and a title reign could do wonders for his career. finally he'll be in main events and not a mid carder. plus can anyone imagine how cool jericho would be on the highlight reel with the wwe heavyweight belt?
matches that will happen but aren't announced yet:
rey vs. eddie #19384. i predict eddie will win after interference from dominick . eddie has lost every match in this feud and it's not like he's wrestled anyone else except benoit or in tags. so basicly eddie is like 0-29475-1 this year. he needs the win and to end this feud so both guys can move on.
eugene vs. kurt angle.....i don't see why the wwe would let eugene win. kurt angle beat shawn michaels for pete's sake. euegen doesn't even have his own moveset, he steals from everyone.
shelton vs. carlito. hopefully shelton for the win. carlito is too green to be a champ. let alone IC champ.
OJ vs. benoit. hopefully benoit for the win. i'd love to see a lot of titles change hands to more deserving wrestlers. and i think summerslam is the place. then after the match, thje WWE decides to fire OJ and we all live happily ever after.
paul london will probably once again have a match on heat

I remember that PPV. HHH vs. Rock ladder match is the match that put both of them on the map and showed us they would carry the company when Austin left. However, I put the 2002 SS over that one because of shawn's incredible performance. After a four year absence from the ring, he was nearly as sharp and quick as when he left. I was marking out during the whole match.
My favorite SummerSlam is the 2000 edition. It feature the "Match of the Year" voted by the fans, the TLC match featuring Hardy Boyz, Edge and Christian, and the Dudley Boyz, plus the infamous fall from the set from Shane McMahon taking on Steve Blackman for the Hardcore Championship. It had the Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship between The Rock, Triple H, and Kurt Angle. Other matches were:
The only other matches that were noteworthy was a very good 2 out of 3 falls match between Benoit and Jericho, and Tazz jobbing to Lawler, proving that WWE wasn't perfect in 2000 either. My favorite SummerSlam is the 2000 edition. They've never been perfect. But 2000 is arguably the best year for the WWE in the last decade.
I want Jericho to win cause he deserves a title reign , HBK must win! I hope taker wins , but i think he isnt . Matt Hardy is gonig to probably crush Edge , Batista is going to lose i think...The_Last_Ride
if the wwe wants to milk this edge/hardy thing, then no doubt edge will go over.
but if they want to end the feud there, matt will go over.

That year of 2000 and 1998 IMHO were the best years of WWE/F in past decade IMHO. What I think The_Dude14 was trying to say, is that the Attitude era was not perfect either, because some people try to say it was perfect.

That SummerSlam commercial also feature the release divas too right?! I thought I saw Dawn Marie in the background. Here are the girls you can see very well: Torrie Wilson, Stacy Kiebler, Maria, Christy, Candice Michelle, and anyone else?! Did anybody catch any of the release divas in that commercial?! I think I saw Victoria, and she is not release, but you could hardly see any of the others since its mostly the divas I listed are seen the most!
damn now finally smackodwns tag team are gettting exiting with (overweight) animal back....The_Last_RideReally? You call Animalreich squashing random jobber teams exciting. Different strokes for diffrent folks I guess.
I was really hoping Smackdown would go the route of a Fatal 4-Way for the US Title, after the Tag Last week. It really was set up perfectly, with Christian leaving OJ behind. It would be better than Book and Benoit's aimless wandering from match to match, OJ just standing around while JBL talks, and Christian's eternal jobbing. And thanks to the ridiculous custody stipulation that they will inevitably add to whatever Eddie-Rey match they go with, Raw's decision to abandon Shelton, and Eugene's gimmick for his inevitable match with Angle, it'd probably be the match I would be looking forward to the most. WWE really has no idea what its doing anymore.
I forgot about Hardy-Edge. That match is completely dependent on how professional Matt Hardy is. I firmly believe those two could put on a great match, but if Hardy's looking to stiffen up on Edge for revenge, the match could get ugly.
Countdown: 2 weeks left!hbk91
2 weeks. I can hardly contain myself. The biggest event of the summer is just 14 days away! I'm driving my car to Summerslam! :D
please make sure u hit vince in the parking lot. that way we dont have to watch his crappy storylines anymore. Shane O' Mac in 06keiblerfan69
LOL, maybe I'll hire Rikishi to do that.
My predictions:
My predictions:
- Cena will beat Jericho (via Vengence spoiler)
- JBL will beat Batista
- Orton will beat Taker
- Edge will beat Matt Hardy
- Hogan will somehow beat HBK
edgemeister
I'm quite sure that Orton will defeat Undertaker. But I'd really like all of this "Legend Killer" stuff to end.
