When WWE received the 2.5 rating for Raw, there was real panic in Stamford, CT. According to Dave Meltzer, one of the ideas discussed during the week was to combine the rosters, and eliminate the tri-branded direction. At least, it was discussed, and either way, expect WWE to push the reset button on Monday night.

I really hope it does happen. The Brand Extension is pretty pointless to me.

Even if this is true, still would not necessarily stop the bad booking. Situation on Raw, as far as I am concerned, is good example of that.

The Brand Extension was good for a while, but now they can definately do without it. Although, still, I doubt they are going to end it. This was probably just a suggestion out of panic due to the 2.5 rating they recieved.

it's not the Brand Extension that is bad. it's the bad booking and just horrible overall programming.

I agree, and I'm not sure if having the entire roster on every show would help the booking. Imagine what a huge cluster**** of nonsense it would be with people like Cena, Lashley, Batista, Khali, Kane, Undertaker, etc, all on the same programs. There's no way I'd be able to keep up with that. Plus they'd hardly be able to squeeze in air time for CM Punk, Kennedy, Carlito, and many other talented guys that hardly get enough exposure as it is IMO. I don't know if ending the Brand Extension is the solution to their problem here.

Is it that time of the year already? It's seems like this rumor pops up at lease once a year now.

The brands are not going anywhere. They're not going to change a thing. Your still going to have the same old crap every Monday and what ever night Smackdown is on every week. They have no idea how to turn anything around, and it's going to be like that until someone has the balls to step up and make drastic changes on every level. The overall product is stale, and they don't have any mega stars like Austin or The Rock to ride. Not building around quality workers and investing in one dimensional characters has finally caught up with them and I couldn't be happier. I hope their stock plummets and they're forced to change things up by this time next year.

Their problems are far deeper than just having three brands. How about looking at what makes up most of the programming? Cena, Umaga, Lashley, guys who are already in the Hall of Fame, women, and clips from last weeks show.

What part of any of that makes this form of entertainment viable against Monday Night Football duing the fall?

Well, any bad booking will be eliminated by the awesomeness that is MVP, CM Punk & Triple H.

i hope they dont end it, like you said, the guys who hardly get any exposure will have to be on heat, and the "bigger" names will be plastered all over the shows.

Even if they stop the brand extension RAW would have basically the same people on every week. Only add a handful of main eventers from the other shows. CM Punk would quickly lose his push to the likes of Cena/HHH/Batista/Undertaker/Lashley/Kennedy and so on and so forth.

There would be more than enough time for Punk or any other wrestler for that matter to appear.

People are over-exaggerating the opinion that only main eventers will be on the shows. That's rubbish. There's 5 hours of WWE TV time. I highly doubt that 6 wrestlers will cover 5 hours of TV.

What will actually happen is that a wrestlers time on TV will spread out over an entire week.

Difficult to explain but basically it will go back to the old format.

Raw is like the only interesting show to me.

ECW is not the same anymore. The storylines are boring. Just like most of the superstars. Elijah Burke, John Morrison. And some more.

SmackDown! was interesting. I first started watching in Augut 2005 and they had great rivalries for SmackDown! The Benoit vs Orlando Jordan and my favorite, Rey Mysterio vs Eddie Guerrero. SmackDown! now has superstars like Duece and Domino who say they are the greatest but they only defend their titles once a month.

The Raw rivalries get boring. John Cena vs somebody. You know he'll end up winning usually. Raw needs a new champion.

Sorry if I got a little off topic but really WWE should only have one show each week. TNA is a great success and it only has one show with pretty interesting storylines.

Bottom line, WWE needs to improve because they aren't impressing me anymore.

I doubt WWE'd make this knee-jerk reaction, especially when they learned that the rating was faulty. I wouldn't be surprised if it was suggested, but I doubt it was give that much consideration. The brand split, after all, is still making them money. Plus, the old folks home will all be back eventually. Things'll have to get worse before I think ending the brand split becomes a real option. I'd be shocked if it happens soon.

Personally, it'd make practically no difference to me. I'm more apathetic towards the WWE than I can ever remember right now and combining all the rosters isn't going to truly provide me with any "dream matches." I suspect that we'd get one, if we're lucky. two months of better TV simply from the prospects offered from the recombine that even WWE can't screw up, then it'd be back to business as usual, bad matches, bad writing, broing TV, just with more Cena, Trips and Taker.

And I wouldn'tstamp a guarantee on that elevated month. Afterall, who'd of thought you could **** up WWF vs WCW, but they sure as hell found a way, didn't they? And, IMO, things were much better then than they are now.

I believe it was called WWF Civil War with appearance by Rob Van Dam and Other Former WCW &ECW wrestlers.
