Woah, woah woah. Lets hold on a minute here guys.

Look at the list..

Sylvester Terkay - ECW
Jazz - ECW
Rodney Mack - Unassigned
Tony Mamaluke - ECW
The Bashams (Doug and Danny) - ECW
Al Snow - ECW
The Gymini - ECW
Gangrel - ECW

All from ECW. It could look like WWE has given up and spared on the talent they feel they can spread to other brands, lol.

I doubt it, most of those people havn't been used for a while. Jazz was only used once and that was during the WWE vs. ECW special.

ECW also isn't running independent house shows anymore, as Smackdown and ECW have combined for house shows, pretty much ensuring that most of these guys have no means for a paycheck in WWE.

Also to add to the list: CW Anderson.

So far none of these people have been a huge loss time-filling wise. But I really liked Terkay and Elijah(sp?) Let's just hope he doesn't get fired as well. Burke is the best heel on ECW right now in my opinion.

Also it makes sense to do this and I agree with Vince, if you're not using them, fire them. It doesn't make business sense.

I seriously think that Vince and Laurantis are shutting down ECW, slowly. I mean, why aren't they firing any non-used talent from SmackDown or RAW?

Honestly out of them all, only surprised over the Terkay release with all the build up they had for him. Wondering if some SD stars will be moved to ECW(as isnt ECW ratings doing better than SD?) and SD being combined back to RAW is my hope. Also read that Mike Knox and Tantanka next to be fired. http://www.wrestlingnewsworld.com/1/2/wwenews/Mike_Knox_Main_SD_Star_Next_To_Be_Fired.php

It's like a spring clean out over there. No doubt some of those had potential in the ring and especially for certain divisions like the tag team division. Oh and yeah, it certainly looks like they're filtering ECW's "roster". I wish those released all the best for the future and I am looking forward to seeing some gaps filled in the meantime.

What a way to kick off WWE's FireFest this year!

No, SD! is regularly in the high 2's while ECW is usually around 1.5 so that theory is way in left field.

Its sad that this has to happen again, and whats worse is that is that most of the time its notthe wrestlers fault but instead its bad talent scouting and even more horrible booking and gimmicks by wwe creative, and politics withi n the company holding talent down. Such a shame, and whats worse is that the system nowadays basically sets alot of these guys up to fail, especially the ones they push out green and the ones they bury after saddling them with foolish gimmicks. I wish them all the best though.

What's wrong Vince? Paying too much for your car insurance so you have to fire talent?

You! sir, should be switching to Geico! *High fives Ace Steel*

THREE WWE DEVELOPMENTAL TALENTS RELEASED
by Mike Johnson @ 5:54:00 PM on 1/19/2007

WWE released Ohio Valley Wrestling developmental talents Seth Skyfire, Jack Bull, and Ryan Reeves today. All three had been featured regularly on Ohio Valley Wrestling TV.

Skyfire had been a long tenured performer in OVW, holding the OVW TV and Tag Team championship. He had feuded with CM Punk towards the end of Punk's OVW tenure.

Jack Bull, an Arizona native, signed a developmental deal last year and spent time in Deep South Wrestling. He was moved to OVW, where he was managed by developental Diva Sosay and did a "drunken redneck" type of gimmick. He had recently been feuding with Joey Mercury in OVW.

Ryan Reeves was a contestant in the Million Dollar Tough Enough competition who was later signed to a WWE developmental deal. He trained in DSW and was moved to OVW. He had most recently been put together as a tag team with Jon Bolen under the team name "High Dosage".

I guess WWE is preparing for the massive drop in revenue that is to come from Triple H's injury and his inability to main event Wrestlemania.

... Even though the ratings are up.

My thinking was that either WWE are in a slump/depression period (By depression, I mean the economic context), or they are preparing to sign a huge name.

I have to imagine it's the latter. While we consider the WWE to be horrible, it's still making plenty of revanue.

I wonder how much begging Knox had to do to keep his job... or if it was just a stupid mistake on the part of WWE.com to put his name out there.

To trick the casual observer into thinking that either man could show up and wrestle.  An illusion that the "glory days" are still around.  To keep cashing in on their past success.

No, they are constantly moving around guys from roster to roster (if they move) or removing retired wrestlers (Lita, Trish, etc.) They are just trying to trick people.

ya but i dont think they make money via ratings or ppv buys anymore except wrestlemania and the others of the big 4 and even those are in decline.

i think there revenue is cash cowing in on dvds of old greatness that shall never be acheived again and marketing ads and whatnot and book signings and other crap like that nothing on actual current wrestling shows i think all that loses them more money these days. and there games and toys and accessories.

WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT RELEASES TWO TALENTS
by Mike Johnson @ 9:42:00 AM on 4/7/2007

World Wrestling Entertainment has released two developmental talents that were working for Deep South Wrestling, Jon Bolen and James Rogers.

Bolen actually won the 2004 TNA Gutcheck Challenge in Atlanta, Georgia and was utilized in an enhancement role several times. He worked several Pittsburgh, PA area independents but since TNA didn't have a system in place to develop and use Bolen, he later signed with WWE. He spent some time in OVW, teaming with Ryan Reeves as High Dosage before Reeves was released as well.

James Rogers is a Canadian native who has done some acting and stunt work in the past. Rogers signed in November 2006.
