WWE Great American Bash PPV Discussion Thread!

Predictions:

World Heavyweight Champion Batista vs. JBL: Batista. The Lesnar watch will be in effect for this match. Batista is currently the hottest guy in WWE, even though he's gotten a fraction of JBL's screen time. While its possible history will tragically repeat itself, you've gotta believe WWE is smarter than that. Batista wins

United States Champion Orlando Jordan vs. Chris Benoit: Benoit. Orlando Jordan has held the US Title for 4 months and is, I believe, the longest running current champion, and no one has noticed. He has done practically nothing with the belt. Benoit, on the other hand, deserves better. He should win easily, but I think it'll be a competitive match.

Muhammad Hassan vs. Undertaker: Undertaker. The dynamic of this match changed with the WWE's decision to air the distasteful terrorist angle, and UPN's subsequent request/mandate to get rid of Hassan. If WWE decides to move Hassan back to Raw, I think he'd pick up a tainted win. However, I'm think Taker wil do what he does best, bury another career.

Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio: Eddie. I think Eddie picks up that elusive victory. However, I think Mysterio gives him the victory, to get the secret out in the open. Match really could go either way, however, the secret will be revealed. My guess is it will be a letdown, and probably be pretty distasteful.

Melina vs. Torrie Wilson (Bra & Panties Match): Melina... whatever

WWE Tag Team Champions MNM vs. Heidenreich & Road Warrior Animal: MNM.

Christian vs. Booker T: Christian. WWE finally gives Captain Charisma a high profile win, though not quite the big win he needs to be elevated

The bWo vs. The Mexicools: Mexicools. This is an ECW created gimmick vs one of WWE Creative's beloved racial stereotype gimmicks. Stevie and Co. put up a good fight but fall, in the end.

Hopefully, Paul London will get a match on Heat, but I don't see any more matches being added. Overall, this ought to be a missable show, nothing looks to be a showstopping match, and hopefully we will not see a new World Champion crowned.

This PPV may well have surpassed last years as the worst.

Seriously WWE, what the hell are you guys smoking over there? Nothing good came from this PPV. The secret is still on the bag, Christian jobs again, JBL wins in a way to make for this damn feud to continue, Heidenreich and Animal beat the hottest (and more or less only) Tag team in WWE, and OJ beats Benoit? Plus, no Brock Lesnar. I don't its possible to look at those results and say you seriously booked this PPV to succeed. WWE screwed everyone who paid money to see that PPV over.

I am glad that I did not get this PPV, sounds almost just as bad as last year's PPV. I say almost, because at least JBL did not win the Wold HW Championship.

As bad as GAB PPV was, everyone that wants to see a horrible PPV should check out WCW Halloween Havoc 1999. The only good match on it was the first with Disco Inferno and CC. Especially the main-event matches (Sting vs. Hogan, Sid vs. Goldberg and Sting vs. Goldberg), all of them were truly horrible and even worse than GAB 2004 and 2005 Main Events IMHO.

For Example: Sid vs. Goldber at HH 1999 ended because Sid lost too much blood, that is truly weak and the match did not even last that long, that was truly time where WCW should have given their fans their money back.

The match literally last 5 minutes and Sting barely gets ANY offensive moves and Goldberg runs-over Sting like a common jobber to win the match, WTF? You are telling me one of the greatest wrestler in the ring IMHO, is going to get ran-over for like that, okay? Rip-off, give me my money back!

This PPV was the first and last PPV I got from WCW, as I was too PO after that to get another one, this great example why WCW died IMHO. They uterly were lame out giving wrestling fans a good PPV and had no idea what they were doing.

I hope to God WWE learns from this and quit giving up lame crap such as GAB, because fans will only be burned some many times, before they have had enough. The GAB PPV (along with other SD 2004 PPV's) is why I did not get GAB 2005 and do not get SD PPV's anymore, because SD is lame at doing PPV's IMHO.

The only thing I know is Hogan said something in Sting's ear and he layed-down. It look like Sting did not want to do it, but he did anyways and the match was over. I know this was obviously not planned and Hogan had some kind of problem with WCW out the time, but WCW should have made sure Hogan was all right and Hogan should have called in ahead of time, that way WCW could have give Sting a opponent that would have actually WRESTLED.

Thanks HOGAN for that wonderful main event match, you let your problems with WCW screw over the fans, thanks! I love you Hogan, but you sure screwed the fans over on that day. If anyone thought that famous finger poke to Nash was bad, they should check this out, because it easily tops it IMHO. At least you did not have to pay 30 dollars to watch the finger poke happen, I had to pay 30 dollars to watch Hogan lay-down and Sting pin him.

I know the Goldberg vs. Sting was last minute, because of what Hogan did, but that is still no good reason to have Sting job that bad to Goldberg like that IMHO.

This was not as good as a PPV as it could of been, I mean Benoit losing to that Orlando Jordan is like saying Hurricane beat Brock Lesnor without using any kind of weapons, doesn't make any sense. Then Batista getting DQ'd cause the ref finally notices something went wrong while JBL and Orlando were cheating the whole time. Everything else went like I thought it would(except for Melina and Torrie), but it still wasn't all that.Demohiei

Actually, #1 contendership is about facing the Champ, not the winner by DQ. Anyhow I've heard a rumor that WWE is going to book themselves out of it by having Orton back and setting Orton vs Taker on Summerslam.

I think The Undertaker will get a shot at the World HW championship on a SmackDown before SummerSlam, but Randy Orton will come out and cost The Undertaker the World HW championship. Which should set-up a match at SummerSlam between the two.
