WWE Monday Night Raw Predictions/Discussions Thread - February 20, 2006

RAW will return to its regular night and time this week, Monday at 9/8 CT on the USA Network. The Road to WrestleMania tournament took a slight turn Thursday, as the finals will now be a Triple Threat Match. After fighting to a violent and brutal double count-out, Triple H and Big Show were rewarded by Mr. McMahon as he placed them both in the finals. Rob Van Dam defeated Chris Masters to round out the finals. Will the King of Kings move one step closer to regaining his seat on the throne? Will the Big Show be in his first WrestleMania main event since WrestleMania 2000? Or will Mr. Monday Night become Mr. WrestleMania?

Last week, Edge came up short in trying to regain the WWE Championship. After the match, the Rated R Superstar took out his frustrations on special guest referee Mick Foley with a vicious spear. Will the Hardcore Legend have anything to say about last week’s attack?

Plus, Shelton Benjamin defeated Eugene to earn an opportunity at Ric Flair’s Intercontinental Championship. Benjamin is a former IC Champion, and his momma wants nothing more than to see her son reclaim his Championship glory. Can Shelton do his momma proud? Or will the Nature Boy make Benjamin look like just another momma’s boy?

Also last week, Bret “Hit Man” Hart was announced as the first Class of 2006 WWE Hall of Fame inductee. Another inductee will be announced live on RAW.

I reckon Triple H or Big Show will pick up the victory. After that match last week, one of them deserve a WM Title shot. Then again, Triple H had a great performance at RR so I'll be going for Trips on this one.

...but seriously, he has to stop headlining wrestlemania....

Flair vs. Shelton Benjamin

Sadly, I don't think Flair will lose tonight.  I think Shelton will win the title sometime next month.

Triple H vs. RVD vs. Big Show

I'm pretty sure Trips will win but i'm going to go ahead and take RVD in my fantasy too.

Hall of Fame

I always get chills win I see these HoF video packages. I think tonight will be either Dusty Rhodes or Eddie Guerrero...or maybe even Mick Foley.

Edge & Foley

I think there will be a HoF video package for Mick Foley, then Edge comes out and trash talks Foley and says "Too bad he can't be here tonight" then Foley will come out and challenge Edge to a match at WM 22.

Flair vs. Shelton Benjamin

Sadly, I don't think Flair will lose tonight.  I think Shelton will win the title sometime next month.

I see Shelton winning it at WM myself, not tonight.  If he does win it tonight then sadly I think Flair will take it back at WM.

I doubt it. I think this will be Flair's last title reign. But now that I think about it, I said the same thing 10 years ago :lol:

I'd like to say I'm watching Raw hoping for the best, prepared for the worst, but WWE has shown me I am never prepared for the worst.  Still, I'm hopeful for a good show, coming off what I considered to be a solid outing last week.

I hope the Triple Threat match does not get short changed for another HBK-Vince segment, after last week's obnoxiously long and heading nowhere segment.

I fully expect WWE to have the ol' 4th wall convention in full effect in a Trish-Mickie segment, making Trish look like an idiot for not watching last week's taped segment.

Hopefully, Shelton gets the IC Title.  I wonder how hard WWE will try to get the "Mama's Boy" chant over this week.

Despite the fact I know the Triple Threat match will not go the way I want, I still have high hopes for the match from a purely quality standpoint.  Both Show and Trips looked motivated last week and with Wrestlemania looming large I expect them to continue to be on their A-Game.  Throwing RVD in the mix adds an entirely new dimension and variety and all new potential for the match.  I'd love to see this match get 20 or more minutes to play with.  I'm looking forward to this match, not so much to the way it ends.

Who do you think will be the HoF inductee? I've already said who I think.

It was a Diva Battle Royal for #1 contendership if you luckily werent watching.

Man, Raw has not started well at all.  I sincerely hope WWE isn't going with Trish vs Candice at Mania (I don't think they specified).  On the bright side, its not Ashley.

Last week, Edge was main eventing, this week he's wrestling 1980s Eugene (minus the boos), Hacksaw Jim Duggan... ouch.  On the bright side, Matt Hardy probably has a smile on his face for the first time in a while... probably until he finds out who he's jobbing to tomorrow night.

Impressive debut for the Squad.  Unfortunately, they are more anonymous and interchangeable than Diva Search contestants right now.  Lame ending to the match, but the everything's cool, Marty Jannetty's back!

Hopefully, Jannetty won't fall into the same pitfall that cost him last year.
